Review:Fantastic book. My 9 year old loves math and I've been running him through this book to feed that appetite. Its well written and fun to read (and thats saying something for a math book). I've liked it enough that I may buy my 13 year old a copy as well, to use as a reference.
If I had to identify a weakness I'd say that while it simplifies and summarizes well, it is limited in the number of exercises that it provides a student, which would be helpful in cementing the new techniques and... Read more
Review:Good resource for my 7th graders (boys) who are a little stubborn when it comes to studying / preparing for school assignments.

Review:This is an excellent book for kids. If it were to be required reading (which it NEVER will), we would probably have a second American Revolution.
In school, kids are told a pack of lies about America in order to convince them to keep their heads bowed and do what their corporate masters tell them. Kids are slathered in nationalistic crap and primed to go off and die fighting in immoral and unnecessary wars of aggression.
Pull your kid of the lie machine and have him read this ins... Read more

Review:As usual O'Reilly's books are full of interesting facts and personnel stories. Major part of the book surrounds the battle of the bulge and how it affected the defeat of the 3rd Reich. Full of archived photos that have brief descriptions. I wish that he would have gone a bit further describing how Berlin was divided with the Allies and Russians, east and west. The last part of the books goes on to describe what happens to the main players after the war ended. i.e., the generals and others. Read more
Review:Pax is a wonderful book that can be appreciated by readers of all ages. The themes are universal and the story is told poignantly. The writing draws the reader in and evokes deep emotions for each of the characters. The book speaks to friendship, loyalty, family, love. I highly recommend this jewel of a novel. Read more
Review:Cannot imagine a better way to kick off the summer reading season! Mysteries, ciphers, suspense, and heart-pounding adventure supported by friendship, heart, and a genuine passion for books. Every reader, young and not-so-young, will enjoy getting to know Emily and James, and the many facets of their escapades. The author's ability to translate her cipher and code expertise into something a novice scavenger can understand (and devour) is a gift. She will undoubtedly get young readers to put down... Review:The book was less than average shape (advertised as average) with multiple torn pages and one page was torn in half, mended with tape. It was VERY used. I wasn't very happy with the condition of the book. We love this book, though! Read more
Review:I found this book to be very well written and quite informative. The horrors of WWII and the Holocaust are never "fun" reading, but I do believe we need to know history if we don't want to repeat it. This largely first hand account of one of the youngest survivors of Auschwitz was very interesting not only for the information specifically about life in the concentration camp but also about the aftermath of WWII and the difficulties encountered then. I find it interesting also to know what bec... Read more
Review:We homeschool, and I just can NOT tell you how much trouble I've had finding a timeline for a history supplement that I really, really like! This is the closest I've found, and I'm happy to have it!
