Good resource for my 7th graders (boys) who are a little stubborn when it comes to studying / preparing for school assignments.

Well written and has been a nice addition to our study materials

I was happy to see this offered by Brain Quest for the older kids. I like the format, it's visually appealing, and it's thick but not overwhelming.

There are questions at the end of the sections, followed by answers on the other side of the page. Great for students who can handle being self guided.

I am really pleased at my initial look at of this series- For a review/ overview of basic info for the middle school student.

Now, if they would incorporate this idea into Highschool core courses that would be great!

I love all these little books. They are fun, well written, and has tons of useful information that can be used as a reference or just to make sure that your student has grasped certain concepts. It's probably not everything that you need to know, but it is very inclusive of much of what you do need to know.
The Grace of Kings (The Dandelion Dynasty) :: Stories of Your Life and Others :: A Novel (The Practical Magic Series) - The Rules of Magic :: More Techniques of Natural Magic (Llewellyn's Practical Magick) :: 100 Spiral Bound duplicate pages(Package may vary)

I bought this book for my middle school daughter and the highest praise I can give is that she is engaged by it and is already using it to prepare for back to school.

The book is thorough and gives very detailed yet concise descriptions of the topics at hand. And, from what I can see from my daughter's school work last year has almost exactly the same information in a more interesting format than her notes or school books.

In an age when kids search youtube and google for everything this books takes their attention back to the basics, reading a real book and learning the information you need. The author and the designer did an excellent job.

This is a book she will use for her whole middle school experience.

I havent used this yet but i bought the math book and I would give the Everything you need to ace math book 5 stars. It is very helpful. It breaks down how to do math step by step. I assume the English version is just as good

It's a good book, without all the "fluff" added in regular text books. He was able to read it and concentrate on what was being taught and learned from it quickly. Well written and the style was put in a fun way to help.

It helps with keeping interest and is a nice tool to use for looking up rules, but sometimes it isn't clear enough for a younger student to understand. If it was a little more simple it would be perfect.

This is one of 3 books I bought my grandson for Christmas. Of course, educational books are not exactly at the top of any 12 year olds Christmas list, but he has used them and they are very nice and informative books.

It's terrible that the answers are right in each chapter. If you're using this for homeschool you will have to try and find a way to cover up the answers on the page or tear it out and monitor your child. I would appreciate if the answers were in the back of the book. Just makes it too easy to cheat. Otherwise, so far my child is enjoying it. We use it for homeschool.

My cover is upside down too. Perhaps we need a "EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW TO ACE PUBLISHING BOOKS"?

My daughter loves to write stories, so this is something for her to refer to if she would like to. We have the middle school math book, and it is a great resource.

I've been teaching English language arts to grades 6 through 12 for the past 15 years. This book is not a good choice: It contains errors.

A simple example is the outdated definition of a noun: This book defines a noun as a person, place, or thing. That definition has been outdated for years; it's incorrect. The true definition of a noun is a person, place, thing, or idea.

Also, the definition of a complex sentence is incorrect: Any sentence that contains two or more independent clauses is a compound sentence. If that sentence also contains at least one dependent clause, it is a compound-complex sentence.

The correct definition of a complex sentence is as stated in the SECOND part of this book's definition of a complex sentence: A complex sentence contains one independent clause and one or more dependent clauses.

I was considering this book as a possible supplement to my curriculum, but when I saw these two errors, I knew it would not be a wise choice.

For educational content I give this book only one star. I have added a second star solely for its eye appeal. As a professional educator, I cannot recommend this book.

I have only went through the first couple of chapters so far with my oldest son (7th grade), Nathan Is a very intelligent child and he thought it was confusing the way they wrote it, found it hard to follow. But In all fairness, English written out and explained can just be confusing. As the chapters go on, I think it will get better. THe first part of the book describes parts of speech, differences between clauses, and phrases..and to the average person that just isn't fun to read about anyways. Would buy this book again, as it does have lots of information in it.If you truly study each section, and think on it, you would ace English : )

Ran across this book during my volunteer day at the library and checked it out. I'm in my 60s, have an ma in English, have taught freshman comp, so I'm well acquainted with grammar books. I collect them. This one is wonderful; I'm buying the series for my grandkids. Clearly written with great examples, well organized, entertainingly illustrated, this book is a useful go-to resource for youngf students. They don't have to decipher lines of small text to find what they need; the page load is light and in intimidating. I myself have enjoyed its simplicity and directness.

Cannot day enough about this series!
It is not just perfect for middle schoolers. I’m using it for a sophomore as well. It’s that graphic novel type that grabs their attention and makes the most mundane tolerable.
Outstanding!
