Reading & Writing
Review:The cover of the book is printed out backwards so that when you open the book you are at the end and the text is upside down. Since this is a Dr. Seuss book I read it to make sure that it wasn't supposed to be this way (it's not). Anyway, the book looks fun but the printing is flawed. Read more

Review:Good resource for my 7th graders (boys) who are a little stubborn when it comes to studying / preparing for school assignments.
Well written and has been a nice addition to our study materials Read more
Review:The advice given in each section of this book is rather vague, and many of the sections are things most writers already know. I think it'd be best for children who are just starting writing, but if you're older and are already familiar with writing, this book won't be much help to you. The advice given is stuff like "be creative about your names", "don't use substitutes for 'said'", and other fundamentals. This didn't help me at all, but it doesn't make it a bad book, necessarily. I'd just recom... Read more
Review:Great book. Just as advertised. I bought it for my daughter who is going into 4th grade because they no longer teach cursive in school where we live. She used it the first day and was very excited to learn. Read more
Review:I love this dictionary...excellent resource for my second grader who always wants to know what words mean! Can definitely be utilized by older children as well; beautifully illustrated...this is a major plus and we love it! Read more
Review:This book offers a much easier, funner, faster, and better way to learn and to *REMEMBER* vocabulary than most other vocabulary books (including those by Kaplan, Princeton Review, *for Dummies, Arco, and Barrons). What makes this book an excellent buy is the unique method that is employed in teaching vocabulary: humorous CARTOONS that serve as visual mnemonics! You will rarely find this strategy utilized anywhere else! Verbal mnemonics for each word are also incorportated into the book. ... Read more
Review:Excellent book for learning to write alphabets. Letters are big and bright. I took other reviewers advice and used washable crayons instead of the marker that comes with the workbook. The crayons wipe off very easily with a dry paper towel or cloth. I did not give it five starts because the pages for C/D and O/P were swapped. I have A B O P E and later in the book ... M N C D Q. Review:This has been an excellent introduction to the ABCs for my 23 month old. We often sing the ABC song before reading the book, and now he recognizes the first 3 letters of the alphabet. I don't expect him to associate the pictures with the letters just yet, but his vocabulary has expanded with the photos on each page.
I only wish that the book was in a larger format since there are sometimes so many pictures per page, though I don't think this distracts him. The size seems to be appropri... Read more
Review:This book has great illustrations and I love that there are 100 words in this small, concise book! However, the book is paper, thin paper at that and my daughter is going to rip it up pretty quickly. I ordered some other signing books and they are board books so they are spectacular! If this was a board book I'd give it 6 stars!! Read more
