Review:This book should be required reading for high school, and college students. Unfortunately, I didn't read this book until I was in my 40's and I'm angry that I didn't read it when I was younger. Such a wonderful look at history from the side of minorities and women. Obviously not told by the white men that "wrote history". Can't say enough great things about this eye opening book. Read more
Review:This is a very helpful book about understanding some of the men we love - including brothers and fathers. It is very well written and engaging and as a woman I learned a lot - hopefully to be helpful to others. Read more
Review:This book made me appreciate the freedom I have. I lived through her agony and read this book in one day! I only hope and pray that any other Anna’s out there can escape and get the help they need. Read more
Review:This book is a must for genealogy buffs. I found it enthralling to find out some cultural history from a different perspective. The author did a magnificent job of tracing folk ways, accents and more to let us know the ancestors from which we come. Read more
Review:This loose leaf version of the text is an amazing bargin. However, the publisher did not take into account how you would store the papers - the holes punched in it do NOT fit in a standard 3-ring binder, they are not spaced properly. This happened to every student in my course.
The text provides an informative, easy-to-read introduction to developmental psychology. Some students found the numerous side notes to be a bit distracting while going through their chapters. Read more
Review:Very inspiring. I've been visualizing data for decades (as an engineer) and I learned quite a few techniques in this book of how to better show data in a clear and concise manner that conveys the message. This book is great for anyone who does presentations or reports regularly and is expected to tell a story with that data. Read more
Review:I saw this gorgeous leatherbound edition at Barnes and Noble and purchased it since I also happen to collect the leatherbound classics published by B&N. This particular edition is exquisite (as are most of the B&N leatherbound classics) with gilt decorations and a beautiful illustrated frontispiece that is raised. There is a satin ribbon page marker and gilt pages. The contents are not abridged and contain all twenty-one books. As an added bonus, the entire book is peppered throughout wi... Read more
Review:Worth your time. A relatively quick read with some broad lessons without being preachy. The only thing I did not like was the lack of detailed depth, but then again, this book was not set up to be like that. Read more
Review:I recently bought this book hoping to find out what really happens behind the walls of the Playboy Mansion. It was promoted as a tell all of all the sex stories that went on at the Playboy mansion and what stars were doing what. THIS WAS NOT SO.
What a waste of time reading this. DON'T Waste your money on this. Most of the book is a self-ego, narcissistic bio of Isabella, and how she is so much better than everyone, how she didn't sleep with anyone, and all about her going to law school.

Review:Lots of really interesting content, but doesn't really draw it together into anything conclusive. Seemed like it was setting up for a central critique on Russia's modern propaganda but then pulls its punches at the end. Maybe it's meant for you to come to your own conclusions...but the way the book was going, it seemed like there would be one last hard-hitting chapter that summed up how all these different sub-stories were part of the larger Kremlin strategy.
I was still sucked in to the ... Read more
