Review:The book has everything to prepare you for a BDSM relationship. It discusses steps you can follow in preparing your sub for a more fun sexual relationship. It talks about protocols which guides you with the rules on speech, clothing, attitude, etc. It is a good read book. Very informative and thorough. I didn't feel like I wasted a minute reading it. It's not like reading something and just scrolling through the pages finding for something that makes sense. It's fun to read and I definitely lear... Read more
Review:I love specific examples and this one has plenty. Very good-nurtured look into the anxious world of Autism. This didn't provide me with all the answers I was looking for but, helped me to understand more about my son. Read more
Review:I have been exposed to different methods of teaching kids with ASD over 30 years and this by far is the best choice. Please, if you have an autistic child or know of someone that does, recommend this read. It just makes sense! Read more
Review:Long awaited book since the first reviews and all the hype appeared. Thank goodness she lives in Berkeley, 2 minutes from me, as that means I'll be able to attend a book reading somewhere nearby. The lady's got guts, chutzpah, joie de vivre, etc - - - but most of all, boy, can she write!
The narrative arc of A Round-Heeled Woman is framed on Juska's desire for a truly fulfilling sexual relationship for, one may assume, the first time in her life. After decades as a teacher and a single mom, l... Read more
Review:From the glowing reviews I read, I expected much more from this book. The writing style and a lot of the content is somewhat amusing but the advice is either nothing too new or oddly complicated. Almost all of the "tips" are given in words rather than pictures and following the words is usually hard to visualize. Also, a lot of the comments he makes are "gay men like this" or "gay men don't like this" so it's hard to know if a straight man would have the same preferences! Don't waste your mon... Read more
Review:Frankly, I have never read another book quite like the one Maria Konnikova has written. Almost immediately after I began to read it, I thought of the television series, The Mentalist, whose lead character (Patrick Jane, played by Simon Baker) is a consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation. Each week, he demonstrates the intellectual curiosity as well as observation and analytical skills for which Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes is renowned. Both possess a "mastermind" that has b... Read more
Review:An important book for everyone to read, especially parents of daughters. Thank you Peggy Orenstein for not being afraid to delve into this topic and cover it so explicitly. The stories and statistics provide a better understanding of what is happening in the minds of adolescent females and what we can do to help them navigate this new world. We are parenting in a very complex and complicated time and we ourselves are trying to figure out how to behave sexually (thanks to the internet) let alone ... Read more
Review:Very interesting and the side stories are very interesting. It addresses some very pressing points in stereotyping and has a very strong basis in what it discusses. Really good read if you like research and theory essays, also good if you like intellectual casual reading. Read more
Review:I had actually heard of the 6 principles of influence before, and thought it was a very interesting approach to influencing online conversion rate. This book came highly recommended from a consultant at conversion rate experts, and as soon as I opened the book, I realized that this book is a deep dive into those same 6 principles of influence. I am very excited to finish this book and understand more of the scientific approach to why people make buying decisions. This book doesn't have the typ... Read more
