Review:This book is great! Really does keep the drama at a very low level. In forty years of teaching, I have slowly come to these ideas, which are so well articulated and explained in this very readable book. Illustrations are a bit strange (comic drawings illustrating choices, good and bad, that parents make), but are helpful in illustrating concepts. So glad I purchased this book, and I recommend it often! Read more
Review:The book drags a bit and nothing really grasps my attention to want to keep reading. Everytime you think you are about to get some advice you get "as you continue to read this book you will hear my advice for this type of situation"...so you continue to read but that advice never really comes?? I don't know...still reading. If you are looking for a self help book I guess its not so bad. Read more
Review:Research and getting out to those of us outside academically is a gift for sure. It helps to know we aren't all as far along as we think with the unconscious ethnocentric wiring we come into this world with. And that cultural change is slow. That said, those who choose to be participants in academic research may not always be representative of the rest of the diverse multicultural populations exploding in the US and elsewhere. Read more
Review:This book helps to give you perspective on all the changes your baby is going to go through. It gives reason to the sudden mood changes and promises that they aren't forever. It's not a baby 101 but a really great companion read. Read more
Review:I am not a scientist; I know very little about science, not much about anything. Since the Nazis stopped me from attending school when I was thirteen years old, I have been trying to educate myself since the libration from a concentration camp. The Baron-Cohen's thesis in THE SCIENCE OF EVIL is that evil is caused by the absence of empathy. The lack of empathy is caused by abnormalities in the empathy circuitry in the brain.
I was captive in camps for three years and 123 members of my ext... Read more

Review:I picked up this book because I am quite interested in psychiatry and the development of psychosis.
Unfortunately, for me, ""The Psychopath Test" did not pass my readability test. The pace is meandering, and the cases sited are not as interesting as others in books about Borderline Personality Disorder or Narcissism.
Maybe it's only because it's summer, and I should be looking for beach reads, but Jon Ronson's book just did not hit the spot for me at this time. Read more
Review:A fun read but NO CONCLUSION. No explanation of how to deal or who the subjects have bounced back. I thought this would be a n interesting read about how modern communications have devastating effects on lives and how that can be worked out of but no. its just a depressing collection of inclosed case studies. Review:How wonderful to have the perspective of the therapist in session. This classic gives us the forces that direct clinical choices in the moment. I gained a better understanding of the process of experiential Family Therapy. Thank you Napier and Whitaker. Read more
Review:This book came recommended to me by a friend. I bought it, began reading it and with in a few days it ended up in my recycling bin. I have no need to control my wife and thus our relationship sails quit well. Of course our view points differ from time to time but we always talk and work together for the greater good. As we are all individuals with our own way of thinking I can imaging that the Authors research and opinions work for many men out there. So I give him credit to helping men fin... Read more
