Review:Very enjoyable for even an "older kid" like me. my grandson and I both loved this book. It shows the need for understanding those different than ourselves and the joy and knowledge that one can experience when accepting and learning about another culture. Read more
Review:I'm currently reading the "Universe in a Nutshell" by Stephen Hawking. I find this book book far more interesting then this book. The book was well written but it just gets boring after a while when you can predict absolutely everything that happens in the book. The book is absolutely cheese. I also have a theory as to why I didn't like the book was because I'm reading it for school and I don't ever read this genre of book normally or at all. I'm also only 14. Read more
Review:A great book! At first I thought I wouldn't enjoy the series, but once I started reading, I was hooked! The writing style was great and there were always twists and turns in the plot line to be found. This book is awesome! I would definitly recommend it! Read more

Review:The Quiet Book is a precious collection of *different kinds of quiet* such as coloring-in-the-lines-quiet and trying-not-to-hiccup-quiet. The illustrations are a soft palate of earthy pastels and the child-animals are absolutely adorable. There are a couple of reasons why I truly love this book and would highly recommend. 1) It's an entertaining way to help children notice when quiet arises naturally. 2) This book encourages children to discover the emotions behind different kinds of quiet - be ... Review:The Book of Lost Things: The lost things, yes, as well as the sometimes "LOST" passion, dedication, and charming pleasures in reading a good and well-written book. It is difficult to find the "one adjective" I would use if someone were to ask me to resume this novel in one word. I read a lot of books (and of all kinds and genres), but very seldom (unfortunately) I feel a sense of melancholy and nostalgia once I have finished it. These mixed feelings, after all, are most positive. I think that on... Read more

If she's waiting for her handsome prince, but her feet are too big for glass slippers and are planted firmly on the ground, Cinder Edna is the role model for her. Review:Emporer Mage is a awesome book, I've reread it about two or three times, and I'll probably reread some more! I love Tamora Pierce's books, I recheck them out at the library a lot. I love how, in this book she goes to Carthak and heals the emporer's birds, it is just SO awesome. I love how she gets right into the story and explains things as she goes along, this is one of my favorite books. I think it is neat how she gets all mad over getting told Numair was killed. I love how she ruined... Read more
Review:"We do different things with our anger, of course. I was always taught to deny mine, which I did and still do. And that makes me envy you. Your anger is still up here on the surface where you can look it in the face, make friends with it if you want to."
Gilly Hopkins is an 11-year-old kid who has been in the foster system all her life. In less than 3 years, she's been moved to 3 foster homes. Somewhere along the way, she has set her heart to be unpleasant and gutsy, "great Gilly Hopkins"... Read more
Review:.When my kids were very young, I told them that the stars shining in the night sky were the teeth that the tooth fairy collected. If I had read Toothless Wonder then, I would've had a much better explanation.
I was a high school English teacher and an elementary school librarian, and I am a HUGE fan of the Junie B. series. I understand parents' concerns about the grammar, attitudes, behavior, etc. in these books, but all you have to do is discuss these issues with your child/ren.
