Review:I really like all the wonder story's and how you got to know some of the key characters in the book. The book was absolutely perfect with everything written in wonder perfectly mirrored here. Written by Amelia (10) Read more
Review:For those raising kids without religion, which is my preference, there isn't much for kids to read that is relevant to other views of the universe. This book is beautiful to look at, and a nice, short read, but I don't think a child would find it a book to love. I'l see how it goes when I give it to my favorite 7 year old at Thanksgiving. Review:Perhaps 3 1/2 stars.. somewhere between "I like it" and "it's okay." I very much admire Eckhart Tolle, as his insights expressed in his other books are truly inspiring. Parts of this book are beautiful as well, especially the dream sequence. However, the story falls somewhat flat is towards the end. The major premise of the story is that a bully shoved Milton so that he fell down and said he was going to "get" Milton "next time" because an adult intervened -- and yet, at the end of the story... Review:I love King and I love the fact that he decided to make a children's book. Oops, I mean Mr. Evans! I read this to my daughter upon purchase. She is six, and although she did cry when she thought Charlie would die and found is face a little creepy, she loved the story and it really engaged her on a different level then the generic children's book. She loved it so much she put her name in it and it already has found a prominent place on her shelf.
This is the magic of King. This is what h... Read more
Review:This book is a sweet reminder of why letting go of one stage in your child's life and looking forward to another is bitter sweet. This book is good for older sibligs feeling jealous of a younger sibling or my friend is even going to order one for each of her daughters graduating from high school and college. A parent will cherish and hold on to the memories of each stage of life your child goes through and this book captures this well. I love Marianne Richmond books! Read more
Review:as we are from Joplin my kids had to have this book. There were a few mistakes, such as: it says we are from Southeast MO, but we are in Southwest MO. There wasn't 150 some people that died in tornado, ended up 161 that died. I wish people were more careful about their facts before they publish. it would be 5 stars but for not fact checking i'm giving it a 4 start Read more
Review:Beautifully written, I love you to the Moon and Back is the perfect gift for any mom. It's beautiful use of blues draws in the reader and provides an engaging picture for the young child.
Pros: The pages are thick cardboard, meaning that a baby can handle this book. You don't have to worry about damaging the book.
Cons: After a few uses, wear starts to show on the corner(but you should expect this when a baby handles the book)
Whether you're buying this for yourself or a... Read more
Review:I bought this for Valentines day for my 1st grader and 1 day later she said "mama on already on the 9th chapter."I bought this book because my daughter is on a 5 th grade reading level so I'm really skeptical about the books I buy her because of maturity. This title spoke for it self so I purchased it especailly since the price was right. I usually try to read the books I buy her before I give them to her,so I can give her a test when she is done and so I know what is in the book to have a convo ... Read more
Review:Don't expect a lot from this book - It's great if you want a quick read about Ashoka or you're a teen reader. If you are serious fan of Star Wars books, it's best to skip this book and wait for something more substantial. This book lacks character depth, a serious plot and graphic details. Read more
Review:I’m not into the whole graphic novel thing, but I got this for FREE from Goodreads, and I have a deep and abiding love for my spirit animal, Shannon Hale. I still wanna be her when I grow up. This book makes me even more convinced because it seems like every girls’ story from elementary school. And I look at my daughters and think that it is their story as well. Who hasn’t felt bullied or lonely as a child? Who can’t remember deciding that the friends we’ve got aren’t working for us any more? Read more
