The Hunter; The Chase; The Kill - The Forbidden Game

Review:i absolutely loved this book. It makes you wonder "how do i explain what love is to someone who has never felt love before?". I loved the imagination of this author. Every character had to face their own fears, some silly fears and eerie. I thought there was a good balance of different personalities. BUT BEWARE!! Don't fall for Julian too much! The ending is sad and heartbreaking. This wonderfull bittersweet story is full of danger, suspence, love, excitement, and excitement. Definitely your worthw... Read more

The Secret of the Fortune Wookiee (Origami Yoda #3)
The Secret of the Fortune Wookiee (Origami Yoda #3)

Review:I've mostly enjoyed the "Origami Yoda" series, which mixes a love of Star Wars and odd characters with typical middle school drama (tension between boys and girls, the urge to fit in), but The Secret of the Fortune Wookiee is the first one that felt aa bit uninspired and dull. Part of that just comes from the structure; when you take Dwight, the creator of Origami Yoda and the wonderfully weird figure who the first two books orbited around, and remove him from the story, you're basically taking ... Glad Monster, Sad Monster
Glad Monster, Sad Monster

Review:There are seven emotions that are highlighted - each has a mask (a perforated page that you tear out) as well as 3-4 examples of what happens when the monster is glad/sad/silly/angry/scared/etc.

Each mask has eye-holes and a nose hole which my 4 and 2 year old kids really like.

There is a "storage pocket" in the back of the book so you can keep all of the masks in there. The thing is that it's only barely large enough to fit them so it's a pretty tight fit.

Note that one pag... Read more

I'm a Monster Truck (Little Golden Book)
I'm a Monster Truck (Little Golden Book)

Review:I purchased this book for my monster truck lovin' 3 year old. I personally do not like the use of "But heck" in the book, which is why I gave it 4 stars. Without it I would have rated it a 5 simply because he loves the book. I have chosen to omit reading him that line and felt I should give others a heads up before making their purchase. Read more

Love Monster
Love Monster

Review:I just received my first two Love Monster books, Love Monster and Love Monster and the Scary Something. I will soon be ordering the other two books. These books are adorably written and illustrated. I am a toddler teacher and can hardly wait to read them to my class. The stories have positive lessons contained within them and the illustrations are full page and very cute. Great job, Rachel Bright! Read more

Leonardo, the Terrible Monster
Leonardo, the Terrible Monster

Review:I bought this book because my grandson had an infatuation with monsters for awhile. We both enjoy the story and the artwork. He's moved on from monsters now, but we still enjoy reading this book. Not terribly long, so good for a bedtime book. Read more

Keeper of the Lost Cities Collection Books 1-3 - Keeper of the Lost Cities; Exile; Everblaze
Keeper of the Lost Cities Collection Books 1-3 - Keeper of the Lost Cities; Exile; Everblaze

Review:A Middle Grade fantasy in the vein of Harry Potter or Percy Jackson that takes a kid from the real world into the magical world they were separated from. In Keeper of the Lost Cities, Sophie discovers that she is an elf. The world is fantastically created (with funny details like DNA locks for doors and lockers that you need to lick to unlock) and the mystery is masterfully crafted. However, what has stuck with me the most since I read it is the relationships that Sophie builds in her new wor... Read more
