Keeper of the Lost Cities Collection Books 1-3 - Keeper of the Lost Cities; Exile; Everblaze

A Middle Grade fantasy in the vein of Harry Potter or Percy Jackson that takes a kid from the real world into the magical world they were separated from. In Keeper of the Lost Cities, Sophie discovers that she is an elf. The world is fantastically created (with funny details like DNA locks for doors and lockers that you need to lick to unlock) and the mystery is masterfully crafted. However, what has stuck with me the most since I read it is the relationships that Sophie builds in her new world. For the first time she is developing friends and figuring out what the means. She also has a set of foster parents who are still mourning the loss of their biological daughter. Sophie's relationship with her foster parents made me cry and is one of my favorite parts of the book. I can't wait for the sequel.

I got involved in the story immediately, and it kept my attention all the way through. The characters are likeable from the start and remain that way as they develop. Ms. Messenger is a great writer!

Keeper of the lost cities was an amazing book with lots of plot twists, I just couldn't put this book down! I recommend this for anyone who likes action books, drama books, fantasy books, or any kind of book!

I chose this rating because of how the author took her imagination and made into a book or her real life features and put them into a book too such as Ella. This book rocks I recommend anyone any age to read this book.
