Review:You can tell the author was inspired by Harry Potter a bit to much. Call (Harry), Aaron (Ron), Tamara (Hermione), Jasper (Dudley and Neville combined), Master Rufus (Dumbeldore) and the Magesterim (Hogwarts). But she writes a good story that reads perfect and is fun. Read more
Review:We read this as a family read-aloud. Everyone, including my husband, 5 kids and I, LOVED this book. It is everything my husband and I have been trying to teach them for years in a better, more organized fashion. We had a great time trying the things that Marc was being taught in the book. My 17 and 15 year old sons have now started getting up earlier and working out consistently. I've been trying to get them to do this for a very long time. The story in this book inspired them. But they a... Read more
Review:The point comes across well. We can be mean or we can be nice. If we choose mean and everyone follows , what a mean world we would have. If we choose nice, oh what a great opportunity for love and peace could be unleashed. Read more

Review:I listened to this on audio and loved it. It was like hearing a play. Each character had a different voice and a narrator read. I could have done without all the singing but it gave it such a wonderful feel. I watched BYU do the Princess Academy as a play and it was great and this reminded me of that and brought me right back to sitting in the audience. This was a good second story. I liked that we get to see the rest of the country. I wished more dialog between all these characters had been add... Read more
Review:I've heard one too many times "it's no Ella". I believe everyone who said that is right. This is better than Ella.
This is Aza. Aza was abandoned in an inn when she was a baby. Ever since she was born she has had the most beautiful voice -- and ugliest face -- in Ayortha. Many have commented that she looks like a troll, ogre, or gnome. She is ashamed of her face, and most often tries to hide it.
One day while cleaning, Aza discovers a new trick to use while singing. Illusing. It is her abi... Read more
Review:The advice given in each section of this book is rather vague, and many of the sections are things most writers already know. I think it'd be best for children who are just starting writing, but if you're older and are already familiar with writing, this book won't be much help to you. The advice given is stuff like "be creative about your names", "don't use substitutes for 'said'", and other fundamentals. This didn't help me at all, but it doesn't make it a bad book, necessarily. I'd just recom... Read more
Review:The Two Princesses of Bammare is a wonderful twist on fairy tales by Gail Carson Levine. It is an amazing fantasy set in a world of monsters, curses, and fairies.
In the story, two princesses are sisters and close friends. Princess Meryl is very brave and always wanted to go questing and on adventures. Princess Addie is scared of everything and wants Meryl to always be there to protect her. Suddenly, Meryl contracts a deadly disease called the Grey Death. This disease kills its victims in abo... Review:On this copy the pages are printed upside down - as in, the cover is facing up, but the pages inside are flipped. Unfortunately it's a gift and I don't have time to return it for a (hopefully) correct one. Fix your quality control, Harper-Collins! Read more
Review:Our youngest grandson, 5, memorized the first "Pete the Cat" book and would "read" it to us often. As soon as we got him this book he wanted everyone to read it to him till he had it memorized. Since he is starting kindergarten this year this book was extremely appropriate with it's positive look at school. Read more
