Matar a un ruiseñor (To Kill a Mockingbird - Spanish Edition)
Matar a un ruiseñor (To Kill a Mockingbird - Spanish Edition)

Read more

CIRCE (#1 New York Times bestseller)
CIRCE (#1 New York Times bestseller)

Review:An excellent reworking of the myths I read in school. I really enjoyed them in the novel format. I hadn't been familiar with the Circe mythology and I found the story compelling. The character was both modern and old with real emotions and behaviors. Altogether well done. Read more

Warlight: A novel
Warlight: A novel

Review:My initial reaction to reading Warlight was to fall so head-over-heels in love with Ondaatje's prose that I immediately ordered another of his books.  That's how deeply it affected me. My next reaction was, "What's going on here?"  I don't mean that as sarcasm because I think it's a valid question.  This is a story told by a boy whose parents abandoned him and his sister, leaving them in the care of strangers. Later, when his mother returns, his sister walks out of his life, ... Read more

Red Mountain: A Novel
Red Mountain: A Novel

Review:I just finishing the Audible format of Red Mountain. I was expecting the "left-hanging" ending, as I'd read many reviews before I ordered the book. What I was not expecting was the disappointing quality of writing. It read like a string of cliches; as if the book was an audition for a contract with the Lifetime or Hallmark movie channel. Talk about an 'eye roll.' More than once I found myself exclaiming 'oh, come on!' So many reviewers remarked on the well developed characters. I also tho... Read more

Ten Apples Up On Top!
Ten Apples Up On Top!

Review:My kids love this story. Easy for early readers. Seller had used version in very good condition. I bought several Seuss early readers and didn't want to pay $8 each. I'm very happy with the quality, and my daredevil daughter loves to 'read' this to herself regularly. Read more

Castle in the Air (Howl's Castle Book 2)
Castle in the Air (Howl's Castle Book 2)

Review:Once I started reading this book, I got so immersed in it, that I dovoured it in two days. The book is easy to read and easy to comprehend, has captivating plot and funny characters that you are going to enjoy much.

If your choice to read this book is based on seeing Miyazaki's film adaptation, which is my case, then please note that the book and the film have not much in common except of main characters (Sophie, Howl, his apprentice)and begining of the story, when Sophie is transformed i... Read more

Review:I really enjoyed this book, I couldn't wait to get home and finish it. I'd sneak in a read whenever I could, at work. Very creepy stories, some I found pretty original, others left me slightly confused. Overall, I really liked it. I wish there was more! I gave 4 stars, though more lik 4 1/2, because some felt stunted and confusing, for me. Overall, I highly recommend this book to antime who loves to be scared and creeped out, even by the light of day. Read more

Dark Room and Other Scary Stories Book and CD (I Can Read Level 2)
Dark Room and Other Scary Stories Book and CD (I Can Read Level 2)

Review:My (almost) 3 year old loooooves this book! He doesn't get scared easily and loves ghosts, pirates and all things spooky. If your child gets scared easily, just look at the cover and read the title, it probably isn't a good book for them. When I first read it my first thought was "What the *heck* is this?? How is this a book for kids??" Especially about the girl named Jenny whos head falls off.. But for some reason my son thought that was funny and that's his favourite story in the book.

A Light in the Attic Special Edition with 12 Extra Poems

Review:Who didn't grow up on Shel Silverstein's A Light in the Attic?

If you missed out, I am so sorry for you. My teacher read this to us in 5th and 6th grades and I loved hearing the whacky poems. If I hadn't already been in love with reading, this would have done it.

Shel Silverstein's poetry is a must-have for anyone's home library - whether they are children or adults! Read more
