The Elephant Game (The War Planners)
The Elephant Game (The War Planners)

Review:This series started out great. I was really hooked on the first book. This one, the author describes life on the ships of the US Navy. More than half the book is spent on mundane day to day details of helicopter flying, ship maneuvers ! The space could have been used to describe the Chinese war efforts rather than page filler. Book moves extremely slowly. Only towards the end does the action pick up just to end on another cliffhanger. Till the next book then ? Read more

Going After Cacciato
Going After Cacciato

Review:This book is the perfect blend of fiction based on a very-real factual setting for the Vietnam War and a form of 'magic realism' akin to Gabriel Garcia Marquez to tell a powerful story and make a powerful condemnation of the war. What's most impressive is that this book was written before O'Brien had cut his teeth on later more successful books like 'Things They Carried.'
Some reviewers have complained about the distortion caused by the intertwining storylines and shifts in time and focus, b... Read more

The Girl of Fire and Thorns (rpkg)
The Girl of Fire and Thorns (rpkg)

Review:The Girl of Fire and Thorns is an unusual book. A book where the main character does a complete 180 throughout the course of the plot, in looks and personality. A book that emphasizes the characters' faith in a way that fits seemlessly with the plot and is never preachy. A book that starts out weak and grows stronger and stronger. A book that incorporates Spanish language, culture, food, architecture, and more. A book where romance is present but not nearly as important as the protagonist. A boo... Read more

The Assassin's Blade: The Throne of Glass Novellas
The Assassin's Blade: The Throne of Glass Novellas

Review:The books are so rich and there is such a connection to the characters. This offers you stories without meaning. It doesn't further define celaena as a character. It doesn't enhance your reading of the books. In this instance I think the mystery behind these stories in the books are better served then revealing them in a depthless novella. Read more

Caraval

Review:Overall, I liked this book. I really enjoyed the game and the world that Garber created. There was this odd emphasis on colors that was weird to me, but other than that, I genuinely liked it and it's very unique. I loved the eerie carnival/circus feel while also playing up the appeal and awe of just magic in general. You never really know what's real or fake and it walks the line of reality and magic, so I got a kick out of that. I listened to this in audio and was thoroughly engaged and didn't ... Read more

Review:I almost dismissed this book but i kept going. I kept trying to read it and somewhere around halfway things got interesting. I mean interesting enough for me to put off dinner and finish reading. I predict that while this book felt bogged down in so much information and details that the second book is going to blow minds. Just the way this one ended, yes it was a cliffhanger, the second one is VERY anticipated for me.

So you have triplets who are borne of one previous queen of great magic... Read more

For Loving Me (Max Lucado's Little Hermie) - Thank You

Review:This book (or what I thought was a book) was only 1 page with a short poem on it! for $3.99 it was a rip-off. Not happy with this purchase. People should be aware of what they are getting. I expected at least a 5 to 10 page story book...not happy that I wasted my money and because it is a digital purchase there is no returns. Product descriptions should be more specific. Read more

If Kelly Elliott wrote it, I read it, and I most likely five starred it. If you have never picked up a Kelly Elliott book, you have done yourself a disservice.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. Taylor is so sweet and innocent and Jase.. damn that man.. How does the author manage to write such romantic men?
I adored every element of this book. The book moved fast and if you’ve read the others in th... Read more

Loving You Without Limits
Loving You Without Limits

Review:I love the way that the man is now a single, vulnerable father even though he is strong. Its not about selling dope or anything. Its about how life affects different people and how different people deal with adversities. Diamond Johnson never disappoints. Although her editor could have done a better job with proofing the book, I understood the book. I love it and I know Diamond won't have is waiting another 2 months for part 2. Read more
