A Time Travel Adventure (The Downstream Diaries Book 1)

Review:This was really different to the last 4 books I read about time travel.not time travel machine nor special technology to time travel. At first I thought I was not going to like it. It was such a fast and a great novel.i loved it Read more

The Chronicles of St. Mary's Book Five - No Time Like the Past
The Chronicles of St. Mary's Book Five - No Time Like the Past

Review:This book (gosh...is it the last one??) lives up to St. Mary's reputation. A fun rollicking ride throughout history, great characters that you learn to love (and some of them despise) and you become invested in how things will turn out. I will say that the words run together was distracting at times, but I am NOT giving this book anything less than 5 stars. I believe in giving feedback about the story, the characters and the writer - knowing full well that editing can be fixed and I am sure t... Read more

The Chronicles of St. Mary's Book Nine - An Argumentation of Historians

Review:Really enjoyed Max's experience in 1399 St. Mary's. Many answers later arrive and were so brilliantly simple readers should feel like we need to slap ourselves on the side of the head. Good setup for the next book. I look forward to Max's own hunt. Read more

The Chronicles of St. Mary's Book Four - A Trail Through Time
The Chronicles of St. Mary's Book Four - A Trail Through Time

Review:I really enjoy the St Mary's time travel books. This is a very clever vehicle for a rollicking adventure novel. It is also a plot line that allows those of us who enjoy history to get a different viewpoint of famous events. Jodi Taylor's St Mary's series is great fun! Read more

Bitten By Cupid (An Argeneau Vampire Novella)
Bitten By Cupid (An Argeneau Vampire Novella)

Review:I absolutely loved this short story by Lynsay Sands. It picks up the story of a beloved character, Tiny, in her on-going Argeneau/Hunter series, and wraps up some previous loose ends. For someone who is reading the Argeneau books it's a wonderful peice of the ongoing mystery in the Hunter series, though for someone unfamilar with it, there could be a few mysterious moments.

I do think though that a casual reader will enjoy this story even if they aren't a fan of the Argeneau books.

Review:Set in 14th century England, Lord of Fairley, Jonathan is being forced to marry. The king has given him two weeks to find a bride, or one will be found for him. In an attempt to help him, his mother enlists the aid of Lady Alice, the daughter of one of her friends, while making it clear to Jonathan that Alice is not a suitable bride for him. Together, Alice and Jonathan make a list of all the eligible ladies at court and begin to plan ways for Jonathan to meet the ladies and determine their suit... Read more

Sweet Revenge
Sweet Revenge

Review:Very disappointing story. Basically the female lead is just plain stupid. I like sass and spunk, hate to be confined but sheer stupidity over and over and over and over (repeat 10 times) is just plain disgusting. Not recommended even though I like this author in general. Read more

Anomaly
Anomaly

Review:Ok, so I don’t really know where to begin. Anomaly was such a complex and surprising book that I’m astounded. Krista McGee certainly knows how to write a book with surprises and no predictability at all (well, for me at least). Ms McGee’s writing style was great and I was addicted for the most part. My only conflicting reflections would be the Christian aspect; I am not religious and don’t generally read books with it as a strong subject matter, but the overall premise was amazing and very uniqu... The Science Fiction Hall of Fame, Vol. 1
The Science Fiction Hall of Fame, Vol. 1

Review:This was an excellent set of science fiction short stories from the past. I came back to science fiction after a 40+ year hiatus, and the stories were as wonderful and full of enchantment as I remembered. I recommend the book for the thought provoking ideas and for the link to the present day world. The themes of the stories and the problems of the world do not change. Read more

Nyxia (The Nyxia Triad)
Nyxia (The Nyxia Triad)

Review:This is going to be a series to watch without a doubt!

Though it contains the cliché requirements found in so many YA books, Reintgen turned them into something magical with a fantastic level of diversity and a bit of something reminiscent of that cult favorite movie – Starship Troopers which coincidentally is about to become part of pop culture again with a rumored sequel that is actually worthy to be part of the name. It also has a bit of Hunger Games – esque quality to it with the idea... Read more
