Allegiance (Star Wars - Legends)
Allegiance (Star Wars - Legends)

Review:Allegiance was clearly one of the best Star Wars books I have read in recent years. I was very interested to learn about Mara's early years working for Emperor Palpatine as the, still learning, Emperors Hand.
I was also very interested in seeing a different side of the Stormtroopers rather than just seeing them getting killed right in left. You learn that they aren't a bunch of moronic and inept troops like you surmise from watching the movies, rather they are a crack squad of troops who are ... Read more

Outbound Flight (Star Wars - Legends)
Outbound Flight (Star Wars - Legends)

Review:A novel which takes place when Anakin Skywalker is a teenager. An easy read but content is only fair as compared to other novels and series in the star wars environment. It does provide an introduction to Thrawn for future adventures in the galaxy Read more

Jane Doe: A Novel
Jane Doe: A Novel

Review:I really couldn’t put this down. Jane is funny, strong, and more interesting than most lead characters. I loved feeling like part of her game while also feeling her grief (as much as she could feel being a sociopath). I wasn’t sure where her revenge plot would take her, but it was a fabulous story. I’ll be recommending this to all my friends! Love, love, love this book. Read more

A Stranger in the House: A Novel
A Stranger in the House: A Novel

A Simple Favor [Movie Tie-in]: A Novel
A Simple Favor [Movie Tie-in]: A Novel

Review:I bought this book after seeing teasers of the upcoming movie being released this summer. It was a quick read and one that held my attention well enough to finish. The way the story is told in 3 parts by the narrator was interesting. I found the end of the story rushed and ended abruptly. It also seemed like there were too many unnecessary storylines. Overall, an easy and fairly good beach read...but not as good as Gone Girl (which you can clearly see influenced this author.) Read more

This Side of Paradise (AmazonClassics Edition)
This Side of Paradise (AmazonClassics Edition)

Review:He does an interesting job of portraying that era but he is so wordy. I could say in a few words what it takes him a whole
paragraph to express. You have to go back to try to figure out what is his intent. I guess people are impressed by that but
I find it irritating.
You just asked me if I had anything else to add -- no, I'm a person of few words (see above) Read more

Tales of the Jazz Age (A Penguin Classics Hardcover)
Tales of the Jazz Age (A Penguin Classics Hardcover)

Review:This was a waste of ten dollars. Amazon should not list this as a book. It is a pamphlet that was 26 pages long. I wanted to read a novel after seeing the movie. I cannot believe that Amazon would rip off a good customer like that. Read more

The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever - Book Two
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever - Book Two

Review:This double trilogy is quite famous, and for good reason. The six books in order are "Lord Foul's Bane", "The Illearth War", "The Power that Preserves", "Wounded Land", "One Tree", "White Gold Wielder".

Not everyone is a fan of the books though, so beware. The reason for this is an irritating feature, (at least in my opinion), of the main character, Thomas Covenant. Basically he denies the reality of his whole experience through most of the first three books. I mean really... Who can... Read more

The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant - Against All Things Ending
The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant - Against All Things Ending

Review:I started reading Donaldson when I was in high school, and particularly enjoyed the Covenant Series. I had read both the First and Second chronicles, and when I found out he was writing a final chronicals I was super excited. The books in the final chronicles have not disappointed. Read more

Power That Preserves (THE CHRONICLES OF THOMAS COVENANT THE UNBELIEVER Book 3)
Power That Preserves (THE CHRONICLES OF THOMAS COVENANT THE UNBELIEVER Book 3)

Review:Thomas Covenant is crumbling inside under the stress of tortures no human can withstand. Did he just return from a fantasy world in which he saved the day by using the magic power hidden in his wedding ring, or has the leprosy which has destroyed him as a man and barred him from society driven him mad? A second trip to the magical Land doesn't help his mental state at all, especially when he meets fellow Earthman Hile Troy, to whom the Land has given sight for his blinded eyes and employment ...
