I really couldn’t put this down. Jane is funny, strong, and more interesting than most lead characters. I loved feeling like part of her game while also feeling her grief (as much as she could feel being a sociopath). I wasn’t sure where her revenge plot would take her, but it was a fabulous story. I’ll be recommending this to all my friends! Love, love, love this book.

The book kept my interest all the way through it and I was sad it ended. Jane is a strong women because her background required her to be or she would have been broken.
Some of the book was a little strong in Jane’s thought process like thinking different was tp murder Steven and the consequences each way may be a problem for her later.
I would recommend this book to my friend Michelle she would like it

I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this book! How entertaining, satisfying, and refreshing! Unfortunately, there are Stevens everywhere, and most women have known, actually dated, (or worse) married a Steven. Maybe that's why I found myself grinning like a shark and giggling throughout this story. Jane is AWESOME! I hope the author writes more stories about her.
A gripping psychological thriller with a twist - The Loyal Wife :: A Stranger in the House: A Novel :: The Novels of Gillian Flynn - Sharp Objects - Dark Places :: Books 1-3 (The Harry Starke Series Boxed Set Book 1) :: Outbound Flight (Star Wars - Legends)

I really liked this book despite my kids wanting dinner right in the middle. I connected with Jane not in a sociopath way but in a avenge my best friend’s death kind of way. I will have to read more by VHS.

This was an interesting book . I think Jane was much too obsessive in her love for Meg. In my opinion, she should have helped her to help herself. Best friends should not have complete control over lifestyles. Her revenge tactics would have made Meg very unhappy. And her own lifestyle was badly in need of therapeutic help. One might say, she needed help more than Meg.

What did I just read? Holy crap! What a fantastic book. Love the main character Jane. Love her view of the world and how she fights and then corrects this horrible wrong that has occurred. Am looking forward to more from this author

I don't think I could have loved a person more than I LOVED Jane. Every thought you're not supposed to have, she has with great relish, and then acts on them!! Every woman needs a best friend like her. This story was sheer perfection.

I struggled to put this book down. I have never been so enthralled in a story like this one. This character is no cliché and she is unlike any female lead I have read about. Slow start to get to the story but incredibly strong middle and finish. Highly recommend

Wow! Every high school senior should read this book instead of The Hand Maid's Tale...I think it would be more helpful in preventing "date rape". Victoria has nailed the sympathetic sociopathic role that many of us have been forced to identify with...

I fell in love with Jane. The author drew Jane with careful delicious perfection. Such an interesting look into the psychological profiles of each character. I can’t recommend this book highly enough. The perfect book - especially if you want to be held in thrall for an entire evening.

Exactly what I hoped for: a nice, crisp revenge fantasy. Anyone who has ever dated a sexually repressed, emotionally abusive misogynist will wish they’d had a friend like Jane (and man, who hasn’t!).

Interesting. The plot is well developed, and story is mostly believable. But, hunting scene is interminable, and there are a couple small areas where story lags, as if author was unsure where to make next step. Overall, a good read

Excellent read. Quickly drew me in and kept me engaged. I found myself rooting for Jane as she plots the demise of Steven. The writer accurately depicts a common thread in many dysfunctional relationships and the double standards that women face. Although a bit disturbing at times, Jane also made me laugh and had me rooting for her.

I gave this book 5 stars because I loved Jane's character. The men were a bit cliche, but I still found myself unable to put this book down. It really kept me guessing as to weather Jane would go through with her plan to kill Steven. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to see someone get the punishment they deserve!

This is a story about revenge and the lengths one person will go to exact it. The main character struggles with adapting to who she needs to become to get to her "goal". While her intentions are meant to be good, some of stuff she does was going a little to far for me. I like how the book ended though.

I wasn’t sure I would like this book at first, but I really enjoyed the first person narrative from a character that sees the world differently than most humans. And I have to admit, reading it as a woman in the current climate here in the U.S. was extremely satisfying. It’s a fast read - you won’t want to put it down. Definitely recommend it.

First book in a while that I could not put down. So interesting to see revenge served so well, but more interesting to understand, or try to understand, the mind of a sociopath. No guilt or shame whatsoever. Crazy.

Loved this thriller. Jane was very complicated, as many women are. As much as she didn't believe she was capable of love, all humans want love and to be able to return it whatever that may look like

I loved this book so much, it was such an entertaining read. Jane Doe is a sociopath, but I fell in love with her. She is so matter of fact, funny and a fiercely loyal friend if she likes you. I need more of Jane in my life, I hope the author turns it into a series.

Immersive and utterly charming book with a lovable, truly sociopathic heroine who you literally watch grow a rather darling and fierce human soul as she visits sweet revenge on the man who wronged her best friend. Pop some popcorn and curl up for a one-sitting read that will reward you with an evil grin and an impulse to call your BFF.

I was up until 2 am finishing this novel because I had to see how it ended. I am tired today but it was well worth the lack of sleep to read the amazing conclusion to this novel.

This is the perfect revenge novel. Jane is a self diagnosed sociopath. She dislikes her family and has trouble connecting with other people. But when she plans revenge on someone, she does it right. Her best and only friend, Meg, committed suicide. She fell in love with the wrong guy and when he threw her out, she didn't want to continue living. Jane decides to temporarily move to the city where the boyfriend lives and exact revenge on him for Meg's death. She didn't want him to know who she was or what she was doing. Instead, she played the role of a needy young lady and he was the type of guy who latched right onto a woman like that. He wanted a perfect little girlfriend who would let him be the boss of the relationship and not make any decisions for herself. Once Jane ingratiates herself with Steven and his family, she exacts her revenge and it is brilliant! Steven never saw it coming but Jane knew...and that's what mattered most.

I loved the character of Jane. She knew what she needed to do and she followed through. She was also extremely sarcastic and I loved her attitude.

I read an advance copy of this novel. All opinions are my own.

The author's writing style is easy and flowing. The characters are likeable and I couldn't resist Jane. I read this so fast that I was sad to see it end.
Jane has a hard time dealing with her friend Meg's suicide. Meg was broken following her relationship and break up with Steve. Feeling powerless is not something Jane does, so she tracks down Steve to teach him how it feels to be treated like dirt. While changing his life, she finds hers.

I received this ebook from Netgalley and I did not read anything about it first but had seen it around on bookstagram.
I really really enjoyed this story. I loved the characters, I actually really liked Jane, I wanted to keep reading to find out what she was going to end up doing and you found yourself rooting for her!
It is also the kind of story where you can imagine yourself in that position. The author does a great job at painting the picture of what is going on, the backdrop, the emotions.
I will be putting this one high on my recommendation list. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

Listen. This book is a great revenge fantasy and Jane rocks. The revenge is so satisfying and it’s good for any women who has a friend who has been hurt by a man. Isn’t it what we wish we could all do?

I would have given it 5 stars, but Jane is supposed to be an extremely intelligent woman not just regurgitating the stereotypical rants of the liberal left. With that said, Jane is deliciously cold and ruthless towards the very characters I found myself detesting and wanting to rid this fictional world of. Stone has an amazing ability in weaving words together that make this plot near impossible for the reader to put this novel down without secretly wanting to postpone all socializing events and/or necessary bodily functions/needs until the very last word has been soaked up.

This was such an intriguing read for me. I loved how you "heard" it straight from Jane. Descriptive, sarcastic and you could feel the emotions. I wish there were more Jane Doe novels. I really enjoyed the character and story!!

Plot: Worried for her father and her future, Rosalyn Riehl doesn’t think things can get worse – but when bad boy Marcus Hooley, who long ago abandoned his Plain faith, rides back into town on his motorcycle, she begins to wonder if there is room in her life for one more problem.

Holiday Cheer: High.

Verdict: Joy to the world!

4 1/2 stars.

O wish she could have made "Jane" a little meaner , with still not killing him. It was hilarious how she would provoke him then laugh at him. I loved this story, and how she made him pay for his discretions for life. I'm ready for another story from VS.

Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stone:
This book was free on Kindle Unlimited so I was just expecting a pleasant read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, 4 stars for me.
Jane is a meek and mild, conservatively dressed clerk at an insurance company. Steven, in management is interested in Jane, however the Jane he sees, is not who she appears to be. I know we have all seen this before ? but read on.
Jane adopts the qualities that she know will attract Stephen, basically being a doormat and acquiescing to his every whim. Because once she has infiltrated every aspect of his life, she is going to take it all away from him.
The concept of the book is not a new one, basically revenge, but I thought the execution was really quite clever or at least the aspects of Jane's personality were very novel. She will do whatever it takes, is not squeamish about morals and even likens herself to a sociopath. I loved her character and even had some laugh out loud moments at her observations.

Picked it up and finished it in 3 days. So easy to read, interesting main character- delightfully wicked. Plotline was straightforward...no twists at all but still was highly entertaining. Def reccomend it

I suppose the goal was to convey the characters as really bad - cold, heartless, and calculating - so, if that was the case, the goal was accomplished in totality. I couldn't manage to feel invested in any of them and only finished the book to find out if at least one of these sorry ass people got what they deserved.

I really enjoyed this one. Held my interest which is hard to do. I am an avid reader and if a book doesn't grab me in the first few chapters, I go on to the next one. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

This is a clever story of a narcissistic psychopath who meets his match. A story about Jane, a self-diagnosed sociopath (and that is labeling it mildly, as she easily qualifies as a psychopath), sets the stage to avenge her best friend’s suicide. She lures her victim and the game begins, and oh, what a game it is! An edge of my seat suspense that was hugely satisfying and original.
