Literature & Fiction
Review:This novel, published in 1951, is incredibly entertaining as well as chilling. It's about an alien invasion where the aliens attach themselves to the backs of humans and control them. It's similar to Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Star Trek's "Operation: Annihilate" and I wondered if they were inspired by Heinlein's book.
I loved the three main characters. Sam "Elihu" Nivens grows from a womanizing operative to a married man in love. He eventually takes over as head of the Special Dep... Read more
Review:A classic Robert Heinlein tale mixing science fiction and social metaphors. He deals with racism by turning the standard white and black paradigm of the 1950's on it's head. And manages an interesting tale at the same time. Read more
Review:Although dated (and what isn't dated today), this is another great book by Heinlein. I remember finding this book in the school library when I was a kid and never forgot reading it from cover to cover. Now I am sharing it with my kids. Great adventure! Read more
Review:I bought this collection for my eleven year old daughter, and I've been pleasantly surprised to find that all 3 of my readers have been enjoying the books! These books are classics and should definitely be added to your children's library. Read more

Review:I've found that EVERY book I've ever read by Douglas Adams has had exceptional science fiction writing at it's core (except for "Last chance to see") and have been absolutely riveting. The Dirk Gently books are no exception! Highly recommended! Read more
Review:What a shame he died! Yet the story that takes the history of mankind "ad absurdum" will stay forever with all those who like to look at things from more than one angle. He sometimes uses too many words but the whole book is worth every minute of reading and is funny enough to occasionally be reread. Read more
Review:This trilogy was very good and I hope that Jayne Castle writes more ... soon! She has interesting characters combined with solid story lines and clear plots but with twists and turns that keep the reader engaged. Read more
Review:Lemme start this saying I loved the film with all my heart. Which was why I immediately put this on preorder.
It felt.... empty. Sure you get a LOT of backstory (for those of you who read the bts book, almost 0 of the bios match up with this books versions of the characters) each character gets a narrative (unfortunately that meant getting into Stricklands head) and ones you wanted to know more about get developed (Dimtri and Zelda get some good chapters) but even with that, it just felt of... Review:Naturally, I originally read this book in English and loved it. Having lived in francophone countries for periods in my life, I chose to pick up the french version of this text in order to brush off some of the rustiness in my grammatical command of the French language. This is a PERFECT way to expand your French if you are a beginner (as many of you undoubtedly have memorized pieces of the English text); furthermore, for those already familiar with French yet looking for grammatical review, thi...
