Suggestions such as write for the school newspaper, volunteer, attend political rallies, advice on summer employment (he advocates getting a job in the field you are interested in working as career), etc.
There are some study tips covered as well.
The author has another book called, "How to Become a Straight A Student" that is very good at discussing ways to improve your grades and live a balanced life too. Read more
Review:Unlike my law school classmates, I did not read this prior to law school. I'm glad I did not. I was already terrorized by the rumors. Had I read this, I might very well have "tucked tail and ran." It is very accurate. Nevertheless, I encourage future law students to read so that they'll have no illusions. Review:The subject of history and its interpretation has become the topic of widespread debate due to its dual nature: Real people and events and their interpretation. The latter is the real controversy in history. Columbus is not admired (or hated) due to who he was or even what he did but over the consequences of his actions - discovery of a New World or destroyer of an old one. Review:An excellent guide for all new "flippers" out there. It begins with the why and ends with the how. It is short but concise so it doesn't require days of reading - which unfortunately most teachers don't have the luxury of during the school year. If you are truly interested in flipping your classroom, buy this book! Read more
Review:I bought several of these since my child likes for me to read them to her. These are basic toddler books. Don't expect the Cat in the House type quality. These are simpler in terms of paper quality but gets the job done. The price was very low which is great since you don't need them for to long. Read more

Review:Bill Ayers exudes a sensitivity to the child, the teacher and the art of teaching and learning that I have not found anywhere else in literature on education. His intellectual wit and wisdom about the state of education and humanity as a whole is both jolting and hopeful. Above all else, it is the carefulness with which he looks at the "what is" of the child and the teacher that touches the heart. Read more
