Review:Too many sex scenes. Not enough story. I could barely make myself finish the book and didn't care much about the characters. Mark was a different man here, very shallow. In a second book the author showed Mark's feelings, regrets, and 2 days later he is so attracted to Crystal, who behaved as a spoiled teenager. I just did not feel any chemistry between them, and did not see a reason why author decided to write this book. Also, writing from Mark's point of view made him sound more like a woman. Read more
Review:This is a different kind of horror. No zombies, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, or supernaturals. I was looking forward to learning who and what exactly caused the threat when I ran out of pages to turn, and the story ended!
Well, it was well-worth reading, anyway. There wasn't enough time to completely develop each character, but they were all believable, even down to the end. I really enjoyed the different twist to the menace the survivors were facing and I hope the author will hear me be... Read more
Review:Enjoyable short story about Cade (who holds up a stagecoach with two other men) and Bella (who they kidnap). A story of rescuing an old childhood friend from what surely will be a difficult and unhappy marriage which was scheduled to take place in a few days. The bonus is the deep friendship before Cade suddenly left town without word seems to be restored quickly. Bella knew what kind of boy Cade was, but what kind of man is he now? Should she trust him, or flee? Cade wants revenge. Bella'... Read more
Review:Overall, a good enjoyable short story. There's not much readily apparent about how this will tie into The Force Awakens. That, we'll have to guess at.
It's a Star Wars story alright, but not a lot immediately familiar. There's a good protagonist that you'll care about, semi-familiar settings and characters, and a good story arc.
It will be interesting to see how this fits into the new series of Star Wars novels. Read more
Review:This book is a compilation of most generic wisdom bits -- common truths expressed in bland language, neither engaging nor very actionable. The author is just chatting away contentedly, a spoonful of this, a little bit of that - like an elder sharing his tried and true advice for the umpteenth time. And then it is over.
We live in an epoch when the publishing industry is highly differentiated and very clever - every book you read nowadays has some sort of "personality," is written from som... Read more

Review:This little companion to Ms. Allen's "Lost Lake" accomplished its mission -- can't wait to read the full story. She has an easy writing style and knows how to engage the reader with her characters. I always recommend her books; they are whimsical and heartfelt - a perfect blend of magic and reality. Read more
