Review:Beautiful copy, and I just love C.S. Lewis. I have really used his academic writing more in the past couple of years while finishing a degree in English. I focus on Medieval literature, and his wisdom and knowledge in that area have been priceless to me. Read more

The Last Arrow: Save Nothing for the Next Life
The Last Arrow: Save Nothing for the Next Life

Review:When I leave this world, I want to leave a hole in it from where my life counted. I want to be missed. I want people to come to my funeral because in some way I touched their life. I want to know that my life counted. That is why The Last Arrow: Save Nothing for the Next Life, written by Erwin Rachael McManus, resonated with me. This book is a combination of personal stories experienced by the author with sound teaching. It is about making your life count and how that is accomplished.

Good News for the Bedraggled - and Burnt Out

Review:Brennan Manning captures Jesus love for us, "not as we should be, but as we are, for we will never be as we should be".
One of the best books I have ever read! He makes it so clear how much we are loved and who we should emulate and worship. Read more

Daily Readings from His Classic Works - A Year with C. S. Lewis
Daily Readings from His Classic Works - A Year with C. S. Lewis

Review:I always love reading C. S. Lewis, but his books are never easily read in a short amount of time. This little book allows you to latch onto a simple thought for one day - and ponder it. Great daily reading. Read more

The Abolition of Man
The Abolition of Man

Review:*The Abolition of Man*, by C. S. Lewis, is a book that shows once again how, over a half century after his death, the Oxford don's words can still move folks, inspire contemplation, and apply to contemporary issues. *Abolition* begins via critiquing an English educational text that was sent to him for a review. However, he doesn't tell us what book it is, which seems to be his effort to be gracious. As he is using their text in his argument in a manner that rips them to shreds, this is actually ... Finding Peace in God's Pauses and Plans - Wait and See
Finding Peace in God's Pauses and Plans - Wait and See

Review:This book was so helpful to me, I felt like it came as a gift from God in a time in my life when I was questioning His plans for me and wondering how long I would have to wait to see His promise come to pass. I enjoyed the flow of the book and the personal stories about all the different people. The author did well tying all the personal stories into the story of David. The book is fabulous! Read more

The House on Foster Hill
The House on Foster Hill

Review:Really enjoyed this book. I read it on a 5 hour flight and couldn't put it down. I seriously loved finding a book that was well written, but was also clean enough for my 13 yr old to read it as she also likes mystery type books. It's hard to find mystery/murder/thriller books that are free of sex/language. I will be following this author and reading more of her books for sure! Read more

And Other Perils of an Appalachian Childhood - Running on Red Dog Road

Review:A nostalgic story full of poetic language, powerful imagery, believable characters, idyllic settings, and historic significance - this is one you will want to read and reread. If you find yourself crying at times and laughing out loud at others, join the crowd. Read more

Pearl in the Sand: A Novel
Pearl in the Sand: A Novel

Review:I picked up this book because it was free. I am glad I found it. The story pulled me in. The religious lessons didn't feel preachy or forced. The romance between husband and wife blossomed in spite of their brokenness. I see myself re-reading this book many times. Read more

Homecoming (Sweet Hearts of Sweet Creek Book 1)
Homecoming (Sweet Hearts of Sweet Creek Book 1)

Review:It is hard for most of us to really understand a life so filled with tragic times but I know that it happens to many people. Sheryl’s life was filled with both physical and emotional abuse. I can understand why she found it hard to forgive her stepfather and step-brother. Homecoming is a very moving story of loss, anger, bitterness, forgiveness, reconciliation and LOVE.
I loved the story of Sheryl and Mark. Through the love shown by Mark and his family Sheryl found her way back to God. I ... Read more
