National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book of Animals (National Geographic Little Kids First Big Books)
National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book of Animals (National Geographic Little Kids First Big Books)

Review:Our five-year-old daughter LOVES this book!!! It doesn't have SO much information that she feels overwhelmed...but has enough to keep her interested ~ and learn fun facts about some really awesome and awesomely-cute animals :) I think it's a nice jumping-off point to introducing a more serious, more reading-intensive animal book/encyclopedia when reading skills are more mature. You really can't beat National Geo for unique, in-your-face pics! Read more

Junior Encyclopedia of Animated Characters
Junior Encyclopedia of Animated Characters

Review:We used these to take to Disney for autographs. Worked out great. Most of the characaters knew what page they were on already. The ones that did not have pages that we saw, we had them sign on the inside covers. Read more

The March of Folly: From Troy to Vietnam
The March of Folly: From Troy to Vietnam

Review:'A fascinating look at the follies of mankind regarding conflict and wars. As I read the book I regretted that Ms. Tuchman was not around to observe the ultimate folly of Iraq and Afghanistan. Following the tragedy of 911 when the powers that be decided that the country needed to go to war in Iraq despite the fact that the real culprits of the attack were located in Afghanistan. This seemed to me to be ultimate folly.

At forest I had a hard time figuring out why Ms. Tuchman chose the th... Read more

Review:I thoroughly enjoyed "How to Draw" by Scott Robertson and Thomas Bertling and especially liked the companion videos available through the Scott Robertson Workshop website. My only complaint with this new release is that the videos can not be played on my laptop like with "H2D", they will only work on my Kindle Fire and it is nice to see the videos on a larger screen. I have tried to contact Scott through his website but have not received a reply as of this writing. When selecting a video for pla... Read more

Creative Illustration

Review:"Creative Illustration" is an amazing book. It is extremely useful, advice given in the book is exceptional. Most things discussed and showcased in this book I have never seen in any other art books (contemporary or vintage). Unique. Unbelievably good.
This book made me a better artist, and I feel like now I understand everything with so much more depth.
Loomis also gives a little insight in master Pyle's methods, compositions and advice for success in the industry that is still valid toda... Read more

Drawing the Head and Hands
Drawing the Head and Hands

Review:Should be titled “How to Draw Perfect-Looking White People”. Some nice sketches from the 1940s but it’s ridiculously focused on clean, pretty white people. One page of vaguely Latino looking men called “Characterization” Oh and one page of “Grandmothers” that look 75 yrs old+ otherwise all the women are under 30. Yikes. It’s from 1943 but still- ? Many other texts are much much better. Will probably return. Read more

Review:Campbell's examples are very difficult to get through but the brilliance of the parallels he draws can not be overlooked. As a first time writer it was very insightful and interesting. Good price too. Read more
