Review:I ordered this book hoping to gain an insight into the Japanese mindset. It did this admirably. Obviously, an island culture is insular, and around 800 AD CE they lapsed into a culture that glorified the warrior, and not the scholar. This background is still apparent in Japanese culture. If you are interested in Bushido, and the attendant culture that goes with it, I recommend. Read more

Review:Another excellent book by Stephen Ambrose. Once again his exhaustive research and writing style have combined to produce a very interesting and readable book! Ambrose's sense of history and the documentation of same meld for a superb and fascinating read. Loved this story and book. Read more
Review:I have yet to finish this book (I will... eventually) but I purchased this book at the same time I purchased "Sportbike Suspension Tuning" from Andrew Trevitt. I started reading both in parallel but after just 20 or so pages I stopped reading this one. My problem is that I am at a loss as to the purpose of this book. On the surface of it, it sounds like they want to teach a noob about motorcycle suspension. But then you, as the reader, make the mistake of actually opening the book. Because ... Read more
Review:The ideas are interesting, and I believe the steps that need to be followed to get the goggles of your dreams are explained quite well and detailed, however I did not realise that a fully equipped garage with hecksaws, welding tools and other heavy equipment for metal cutting and processing are necessary. So, I have to say, unfortunately, it is quite useless for me. Read more
