Perfumes: The A-Z Guide
Perfumes: The A-Z Guide

Review:This book is a great reference work, and was very enlightening. Very glad I bought it, if you are a perfumista you will find it to be very useful. I didn't agree with all of the reviews but they have definitely encouraged me to try perfumes that are outside my usual comfort zone. I would highly recommend picking up this volume. Read more

The Natural History of Innovation - Where Good Ideas Come From
The Natural History of Innovation - Where Good Ideas Come From

Review:Both thought provoking and interesting. I think the ideas in this book are very well presented and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It provides perspective to how ideas evolve into things of greatness and how the environments that support these ideas are both a part of nature and also man-made environments. Being able to recognise these aspects of an environment, or lack of is an eye-opener.
I would not hesitate to highly recommend this book. I say, Thank you, to the author for his work in this ar... Read more

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology

Review:While Mr. Whitman and associates may be experts in the HVAC field, they obviously are not effective textbook authors for a beginning HVAC course. The book is cumbersome, somewhat confusing, and very hard to follow. The end of chapter questions are more than difficult to answer based on the information given in the chapter. Little emphasis is put on "important" points and ideas. In some cases, throughout the book, a subject is mentioned with little or no detail follow-up, and in other instanc... Read more

Six Innovations that Made the Modern World - How We Got to Now
Six Innovations that Made the Modern World - How We Got to Now

Review:Another deep-thinking look at the world that, like "Freakonomics" and "Outliers," make you see familiar parts of your life from a new angle, with a new and (hopefully) improved perspective. My high school students have loved all three books. Read more

Nexus 7 For Dummies (Google Tablet)

Networking All-in-One For Dummies
Networking All-in-One For Dummies

Review:I purchased this book because I wanted to learn how to set up a VPN network on windows or Linux. I did not find this information. Instead, half of the book teaches very basic windows network features like connecting to a lan or to WiFi or sharing files over the Network and the other half is very elaborate stuff about TCP/IP which I found interesting but it wasn't explained thoroughly enough for me to understand, it was covering fundamentals too quickly such as subnets, zones etc.
Don't get me... Read more

Troubleshooting and Repairing Major Appliances
Troubleshooting and Repairing Major Appliances

Review:Amazing book! Has everything you need to know as far as appliance repair is concerned. I wish I got this before I started schooling previously as there is so much more information in here then in the Penn Foster program which is highly disappointing now.

Also this book mailed fast and was delivered to my house very quickly. Read more

and the Birth of Private Spaceflight - A Band of Renegades
and the Birth of Private Spaceflight - A Band of Renegades

Review:This is a spellbinding book -- a stunning mix of science and the spirit -- that reads like a modern-day version of "The Right Stuff." Like that classic, "Spaceship" is filled with quirky, fascinating characters who make history right before our eyes. Author Julian Guthrie clearly gains amazing access to all of these trailblazers and shows a mastery of her subject. She has written a masterpiece, full of both technical wizardry and humanity, that will appeal to rocket geeks and general audiences a... Read more

High Output Management
High Output Management

Review:Andy Grove has a way of distilling the complex down to very very simple concepts - and he doesn't allude to big ideas - he just tells it straight. Exactly what works and why. I have bought copies of this book to give to colleagues and staff and indeed we have modelled some of our business practises straight out of the book - why not? Its clear, concise, practical and proven. I really cannot recommend this book enough. If you run a company or manage people within one you should read this book. Th... Read more
