Review:When Douglas Preston moved his family to the outskirts of Florence in 2000, he thought he was just going to enjoy la dolce vita and write a mystery novel. What he found was both more interesting and scarier than any story he could have come up with on his own. As he was interviewing a journalist named Mario Spezi who was an expert on the Italian legal system, Spezi casually mentioned that just outside the villa Preston and his family had rented, was the site of one of the most gruesome murder... Review:I've been fascinated by the story of Charles Manson and the Family since I was a teenager. Now as an adult and a prosecutor I'm even more fascinated by the psychology and sociology behind the story. This book is an amazing first-hand account, masterfully told with tremendous insight. Thank you, Ms. Lake, for sharing your story. A must read! Read more

Review:Terrific story...Feels like it's happening as you read but the backdrop of history adds to it's
appeal. I also gained a new appreciation of how the FBI operates and the challenges outside as well as within the beaurocracy that their agents face on a daily basis. Read more
Review:I absolutely recommend this book. It is so good that I could not put it down and read it in one day. It clearly shows the
insanity of our current parole process, the horrors of Federal Prisons, and the courage and bravery of Cait as she battles cancer
three times. An interesting, well written book about interesting people. Read more
Review:I enjoyed this book because the author was pretty high up the food chain so he had dealings with a lot of well known gangsters. The stories seem real for the most part and he captures the last throes of mob life. Read more
Review:The Hoffa story seems to come back around every year or two, so my buddy recommended this book to me. At first, it came off as Sheeran trying to get his name in the spotlight one last time in this life, but as you continue to read there seems to be an element of truth to his story. It becomes more obvious that he is telling this tale for reasons other than fame. Whether you believe it or not is up to you at the end, but I for one think the Hoffa mystery is pretty much solved. Review:Little did the federal government know that when they protected wildlife sanctuaries they were doing more than protecting endangered species. They were in essence creating clandestine burial grounds for demented psychopathic Mafia murderers. In Staten Island "THE STATE WILDLIFE SANCTUARIES, WHICH WERE PROTECTED BY THE GOVERNMENT FROM ANY KIND OF DEVELOPMENT. NO CONSTRUCTION WAS ALLOWED; NO UTILITY LINES WOULD BE LAID. SURROUNDED BY HUNDREDS OF ACRES OF EMPTY LAND, THERE WAS LITTLE THREAT SOMEON... Read more
Review:Excellent book, easy read as the true stories really let you know what really goes on in media and if it wasn't for the people of Project Veritas we never would know. They should receive as much funding as NPR. Read more
Review:Well-written, easy read - and highly relevant to 2015 issues. If you are concerned about current events, particularly #BlackLivesMatter, Ferguson (and the Ferguson DOJ report), and the events in Baltimore, then I think you will enjoy this book. Read more
