Review:Real good book. I bought it to give away for my family's Christmas gift exchange, along with a survival type knife. People were fighting over it. My cousin, who is a prep'er ended up with it. And to be honest, I read a bunch of it before wrapping it up with Christmas paper. Read more
Review:Surpassed all expectations. Definitely a must have for those looking to learn how to butcher from the ground up, the way it has been done for centuries. Step by step pictures are easy to follow and leaves nothing to the imagination. Not for the squeamish of faint of heart. A great reference book and instantly one of my favorites. Review:I really looked forward to reading this book as I am a huge fan of ATLF. I enjoyed the recipes (especially the story and recipe for Eivin’s cat poop cookies) but was very disappointed in that it seemed in their side stories there was an air of preachiness about “food ethics.” While I do grow an increasing portion of our food in a garden and orchard and agree that sustainability and responsible land management are desirable I do not need to be reminded about it every chapter.
