Review:Be careful with this book because it's not really a book by Robert Heinlein. It's an adaptation that does not do justice to the great author. The book is seriously damaged by a long political ranting scene at the end clearly meant to be nothing but criticism of the war in Iraq. Politics or personal feelings aside, it really ruined the book and left a very bad taste in my mouth. The rant was unnecessary. Looking at it almost ten years after the book was written, the rant also badly dated the b... Read more
Review:I was a big fan of reading in my youth in the 70's, and Robert Heinlein's "adolescent" books were a wonderful segue into more serious stuff as I grew older.
Tunnel in the Sky, Have Spacesuit, Will Travel and Starship Troopers are all excellent books and would serve any younger reader well. Read more
Review:Although dated (and what isn't dated today), this is another great book by Heinlein. I remember finding this book in the school library when I was a kid and never forgot reading it from cover to cover. Now I am sharing it with my kids. Great adventure! Read more
Review:Awesome book! Absolutely love this series! Blood World is one of favorites in this series. Kind of sad now, I don't want to have to wait for the next book. This series is like getting hooked on drugs, it leaves to needing more! Read more
Review:It has been a while since I read the book Homeworld. I did not realize until I started reading this book how much I miss these characters. Larson provides a well-worded story. In my opinion it is a Space Opera at its best. And I can't wait to read more. Read more
Review:I've found that EVERY book I've ever read by Douglas Adams has had exceptional science fiction writing at it's core (except for "Last chance to see") and have been absolutely riveting. The Dirk Gently books are no exception! Highly recommended! Read more
Review:Shada fully dramatizes a story that was killed by labor difficulties during Season 17. This production makes a few minor changes to the story so that it fits comfortably with the Eighth Doctor, most notably there's a brand new prologue.
Overall, the story works quite well. In my opinion, it's a notch below City of Death and Pirate Planet (Douglas Adams' other Doctor Who stories) as the six part length adds some filler, and this feels like it could have been an episode shorter. Still, the ... Read more
Review:Weak writing, unfunny, uninteresting, and one of the few books I may actually put down before I finish. I'm halfway through now and it's a struggle to force myself to read further. Don't waste your dough on this one, folks. Read more
Review:This book is David Bowie meets The Hunger Games as written by Douglas Adams. I laughed. I cried. I kicked my feet with glee. I wasn't prepared for the roller-coaster feelings ride that this book took me on. Read more
Review:This book is amazing. I love all of the interactive features like wanted posters, the map of the magical world and the wand permit. It is a beautiful, very sturdy book and an amazing collector's item if you were a fan of the Fantastic Beasts movie.
