Review:Rachel Carson was way ahead of her time in determining that toxic insecticides , herbicides & pesticides were literally being dumped upon not only humans but, animals & vegetation . Although she can sound over the top with her assessment of the dangers, she was one of the first to speak out & make the public aware of the issues and probably saved many lives. This can be a little technical at times but not overly so. I think you can tell how passionate she was about these issues &... Read more
Review:The first few chapters of this book could be titled "You can". This is a great step by step guide to creating your own agriculture based business. Salatin's passion is infectious. The book is full of ideas to inspire the next generation of farmers. I don't think I would have been as excited by this book if I hadn't read about Salatin in Pollan's "Omnivore's Dilema". Salatin is very in tune with the natural world and does a great job of helping others see things they may not have seen. Read more
Review:Shipping price > book price LOL
My professor was using a different version, but the material was virtually the same. Its crazy: they change a few works, call it their own "edition" and jack up the prices. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the best 50 cents I ever spent. Read more
Review:For those of you who, like myself, absolutely loved this beautiful film and were deeply affected by it's mysterious feeling of venturing into "the great unknown", this book is a MUST BUY.

Review:Quantum Mechanics introduced and explained in layman's terms. Still an abstract concept to understand, but great insight to the research being done and that this left to do. Reads reasonably fast given the nature of the content. Read more

Review:This book really helps me understand a lot of the basic concepts of chemistry, with great explanations and illustrations and fun facts. I bought this book because I am trying to mentally prepare myself for my first college chem 1 course and so far, i love the explanations this book has to offer. It really breaks things down and even shows examples of chem problems. I would reccommend this for any college or high school students taking chemistry or preparing to take it. Overall, great book. Review:Excelent. The method of asking you questions right after you read a paragragh works very well. You might still need more in-depth treatments of the subject from traditional text books depending on your needs, but overall the book gives you a clear introduction/brush-up to basic chemistry.
