Action & Adventure
Review:Thanks to Rebels we know there was a Jedi hunt, this centers more on Rebels and Separatists. I find it strange that the new Canon is almost 100% Jediless. Luckily Tarkin is very cool, and I did not hate this book. Read more
Review:Book is boring. Doesn't feel like a Star Wars book. These new stories are very sterile. Nothing like the old ones that made you feel like you were on an adventure with the classic cast heroes. Here, no one is really around. Only ones here are Leia and 3po. Han only comes in for the occasional voice mail. Read more
Review:One of the best entries into the star wars series for sure read this book 3 times over the years and it keeps reminding me of how awesome these books can be...highly recommended for all star wars fans! Read more
Review:What's a Star Wars universe story without action, romance, heroism & the occasional laugh? Catalyst is the answer! Oh man, what a pointless waste of time. I couldn't even read the whole thing. Such a pedantic & ploddingly boring tale of nothing. It literally goes nowhere for at the least the first 12 chapters [which is where I finally, grudgingly admitted what a failure, not to mention waste of money, this book is!]. I really wanted to like the book, as I love just about any novel in the... Read more
Review:I couldn't put this book down. The dialog kept me snorting randomly. 4 stars because I hated the ending. I'll continue to purchase Star Wars novels, but the approach Disney has taken with "official canon" and "legends" truly is a bad move and an insult to Star Wars EU. This is still a good book, but I hate Disney for screwing the timeline. Read more
Review:I was struggling to get through The Approaching Storm, so I bought Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter off of Amazon. I hated it whenever I had to put the book down to do something else. I wanted to just keep reading it, and even though the ending was a rare "bad guys win" situation, of course, the reader knows it has to be, because Darth Maul is still alive at the beginning of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and Hath Monchar isn't among the Trade Federation Neimodians, and the blockade of Naboo and the re... Review:This is an amazing book series and I can't stop reading the other books that come out by Rick Riordan. When I got the set and looked through the books, I noticed that the Son of Neptune pages were upside down and backwards. When you opened to the front page, you saw the last page of the book upside down. When you looked at the back of the book, you saw the front page of the book upside down. I'm not complaining at all because that means that there were probably only a couple thousand made that w... Read more
Review:I can't wait for book 3. When I got into Percy Jackson, that's all she wrote. I have thoroughly enjoyed every single one of Riordan's books. This is more of the same. I started this on my recent vacation. Took me a bit to get into it but that was mostly because I couldn't remember book 1 that well. I finished it in 5 days of casual reading. I easily could have done it faster but you know this thing about paying attention to wife and child gets in the way.
Onto Magnus Chase book 2. I waite... Read more
Review:Been excited to read this book for ages. I have read almost every book by Marie, and I have loved them all. Was a little bit nervous about this one, because I wanted to love it so so much. And oh, I ended up enjoying it so much. Yess. Had a few small issues with it, but nothing big, and mostly this book was perfect.
I found this writing to be flawless. Yesss. It was such a joy to read this book. It's fast and easy to read as well, which I loved lots. And I fell in love with this creative ... Read more
Review:I have really enjoyed other C.S. Lewis books so I was excited to read his Sci-Fi Space Trilogy. I loved the 1st book, it had great story, good charter development and wonderful description of the places. All that is missing from the 3rd book, so while I hate to say it .... I didn't enjoy this book.
I noticed that many people were disappointed that the main charter of the series Ransom plays such a minor role in this book. I can forgive the fact that he devotes much of the book to a new... Read more
