Mystery
Review:A magical garden, a manor featuring an Agatha Christie Tea Room and a couple of murders blend together for an all-out fascinating read in author Ellery Adams’ latest Book Retreat Mystery series release.
MURDER IN THE SECRET GARDEN will quickly draw you in with a meeting of Medieval Herbalists at Storyton Hall, along with a fancy wedding. The book-themed resort comes alive through the author’s vivid descriptions. The gardens flourish on the pages through her eye for details.

Review:A story of life and death and choices that could have changed at different points in these characters' lives. Sometimes self-awareness comes too late. If we're lucky we get to live and make a better choice. Loved the character development. They were real.
This is a must read -- pure and simple!

Review:Terribly written, choppy and confusing. Jumps from one situation to another without any transition to indicate a change in location or situation, leaves you wondering if something got left out in the printing. Multiple typos also detract. I won't buy another book by this author. Read more
Review:This is a stand alone novel from Connelly as opposed to his Harry Bosch series.
The scenario involves Henry Pierce a computer genius moving into a new apartment and receiving numerous calls from clients of a call girl who previously had this number.
From here Henry is dragged into the Los Angeles world of escort services and Internet web sites.
The story has some merit but the plotting is ridiculous, which is a shame because Connelly is usually so much better than this. He p... Read more
Review:The best story ideas come from daily life. Michael Connelly knows this very well. In his gripping suspense thriller The Scarecrow, Connelly has taken his story from today's economy where outsourcing and downsizing have become the norm, with big business bean counters who could care less about the little guy. Bottom line is accomplish the work cheaper. In today's economic world all of us are effected by this trend not just the fictional veteran crime beat reporter Jack McEvoy of the LA Times.

Review:The first of the series was hilarious, but at some parts predictable. I like to be a little surprised, but I think this was her first book out ever. I've read her mixology series and didn't want to leave the author because that series is amazing. I will also continue to bo. I hope she finds her stride in this really funny series with great characters. Lots of things happen in this book from men, to bad guys, to Lacey being naive which is a star off. Somethings she did just seemed childish and I ... Read more
Review:This was my first Janet Evanovich book, and I loved it. If you are looking for funny, romance and mystery this book is for you. Wonderful fluff beach holiday reading. If you enjoy Stephanie Bond you will love Janet Evanovich. Read more
Review:Evanovich missed by a mile with this one. Sad, because I have enjoyed so many of her Stephanie Plum novels. There is very little plot, other than a drab grandma being kidnapped and returned O'Henry style. This is a pretty lame offering coming from a once skilled, gifted writer. Hope she perks up. Read more
Review:I adore Stephanie Plum, the feisty, sassy, suma cum laud bond enforcement agent, (bounty hunter), from Trenton, NJ - the bane of every psycho criminal in the Garden State, and destroyer of at least 10 cars. I love Grandma Mazur, Stephanie's maternal grandmother, and a pistol-packin,' roller blading clotheshorse. The super sexy men in Steph's life, hot cop, live-in lover Joe Morelli, and "The Ranger," who is beyond description in a simple book review, are the best - as are all the other wacky ecc... Read more
Review:I wish e author hadn't tried for a Victorian style the result was so stilted that I had to scan perhaps half of the book. The core idea was intriguing (that's why I bought it), but this reads like a very rough first draft. I wish the author had revised several more times. I really wanted to care about the characters, but they're all really flat. Read more
