Mystery
Review:I have read all of the Agatha Raisin series and always wait for the next to come out. My mother has also read all of these. This is a light funny murder mystery that doesn't take a lot of thought. I have sat many times on the beach absorbed in one of this series. I do read more serious or maybe complicated books but hers and my near by beach are an inexpensive vacation. Read more
Review:This author is very good at tongue in cheek. Her plots though not the most complicated still keep one interested to the end. I like the setting in England. The personality of the main character is very funny.
It is a book I would recommend and an author to be read again. Read more
Review:If you like cozy mysteries, look no further. Karin Kaufman has written one that is sure to please every fan of the genre. I was guessing until the end! Never did figure out the culprit!
Populated by very nice characters, well, most of them, after all, there are some bad guys, Death of a Dead Man is a great little mystery set in a quite nice little Colorado town that had me wishing I could visit. Highly recommended
* I was given a complimentary copy of this book. My opinion is my ow... Read more
Review:sorry to go against all of the good reviews but i dont think that the three last agatha raisin books are of the same quality of the earlier ones. there seems to be less character development and much less humor in these for some reason. i remember actually laughing out loud in the first few in this series--- the parts with the boggles and the pub bathroom sink fiasco in one of the earlier books--hilarious....the latest ones just dont do it for me. seems to be alot of the same old same old. beat... Review:Although I've read the Hamish Macbeth series by M. C. Beaton, I had not read the Agatha Raisin series, so I decided to give it a try. I'm not quite as thrilled with the character, though I have to admit I plunged into the middle of the collection when I selected something to read.
The main character, Agatha Raisin, is a PR officer in a large London firm in this book. I gathered in passing that she formerly owned her own PR firm but had retired to live in a small village to get away from... Read more
Review:This was a wonderful mystery. I love Agatha Raisin. However, I must say that the murder in this book was a bit gory. Wherever did Beaton come up with such a thing?
Beaton has endeared me to Agatha Raisin and all of the other colorful characters in her books. I highly recommend them to lovers of British mysteries. Read more
Review:From on of my favorite authors comes a new series unlike her others! Love it! And into the Cozy realm she goes! Ms Larson strikes again!
Bed and Breakfast and Murder- Fiona Fleming Cozy Mysteries book 1 by Patti Larson
Fiona Fleming a new sleuth in town? Well not according to her that is! She's just moved back to Reading Vermont because her grandma, Iris Fleming, died and she inherited her B&B Petunia's. And also ironically enough, her pug, also named Petunia! Petunia is a fawn col... Read more
Review:This is another book about some woman amateur detective who feels compelled to stick her nose into a murder case dragging her friends along with her and for no apparent reason other than she must think she is smarter than law enforcement personnel. And of course there is the obligatory sort of romance with the policeman or sheriff or whatever. I knew right from the start who had to be the guilty parties. Take 3 of the most unpleasant people in town who are obviously dishonest and expect reade... Read more
Review:Constructive criticism, if you Wright a book and situate it in England, please do a little research, we do not eat cookies, we eat biscuits, it's rare that we have maple syrup with anything unless we have American contacts and it is extremely rare for us to have blue seas or very hot weather also most of the characters in your book have American type names with a strong Italian connection, plus never, never, never would our police take evidence to a cafe and do disclosure. w e are not a dramatic ... Review:I like the characters, they kept me guessing good, bad, what WERE they going to do next!?
Interesting concept and Bridget and Sabrina are couple of ladies I'd love to know. Definitely going to follow this series. Read more
