Review:The author’s hyperbolical description, the kind that seems to be required in the world of genre fiction, reads: “Murder…kidnapping…human trafficking…life extending bio medicines… Scotland Yard detectives forced to admit they are baffled following the disappearance of a massively wealthy philanthropist who seems to have vanished into thin air. This can only be a case for Jonathan Roper; on suspension for misconduct, the autistic detective is called back to duty with the Met’s Special Investigatio... Read more
Review:The more I read, the more intrigued I became by the process, assumptions, mistakes, in trying to solve a crime. That I became involved in the whole thinking process as events unfolded was a journey to the truth well traveled along with Bosch. Read more
Review:Another hit in the Dresden Files. Where does it stop? Jim Butcher gets better and better. I could not put this book down, because the action was as fast as you expect it in these series and the humor was right there where you needed it. The reader gets to know Molly a bit better and her talents develop during the book. But Harry stays alone and lonely. I am looking forward to the next book. Will Harry find his soul mate? Read more
Review:I don't normally write reviews. It seems that we all have our prejudices and tendencies that effect our opinion. Most often reviews wreck books that someone might enjoy. But this book is so bad people need to know not to waste their time. The plot is so simple minded and is telegraphed at every turn the crafting of dialogue and descriptive narrative is so juvenile it's unreadable. I read the whole book because I was intrigued just how bad it could get. This book got as bad as feared. Don't wast... Read more
Review:A power struggle between FBI and CIA and the innocent victims caught in the crosswise. My favorite parts were the interactions between Faith and Lee. The intrigue was too detailed and lost my interest. Read more
Review:I like to read an author's books in the order that they wrote them. My local library did not have Absolute Power as the first of the David Baldacci series. I decided to buy the book and give it to the library. It was certainly not a disappointment! I can see why Baldacci has gone on to be a NYT best seller! Read more
Review:Great characters that hold their own. Fast paced action that's neither overly descriptive nor vague. Can see author evolve his writing style as well as the characters and macro story line. The best of the series yet. Cant wait to start the next episode. Read more
Review:I first read Raymond Chandler when I recieved The High Window, The Lady In The Lake, Farewell, My Lovely and The Big Sleep, as Christmas gift's in 1965 when I was in High School. I went on to read all of Chandler's work and Dashiell Hammett's as well. I really enjoy the hard boiled detective style of fiction. I bought these novels as Christmas gifts for my Grandson seeing as how he is now in High School and hope he might enjoy them as much as I did. Read more
Review:So disappointed. I'm at 75% on my Kindle, paid $14.99 for this, and it's so boring I don't think I can finish it. I won't be gambling my money on Deaver again anytime soon. Oh well. He's not the first of our favorite authors to lose it. Read more
Review:I've read the Aurora Teagarden series out of order, unfortunately, due to boredom and a dependence on the local library. I made the mistake of reading this book second; I usually don't mind reading a series out of order because I never read a book for plot alone. Harris's style is good as always, developing irresistible main characters with strong and interesting supporting characters that are rarely two-dimensional.
There was nothing really remarkable about this book compared to the othe... Read more
