The Cracked Spine: A Scottish Bookshop Mystery
The Cracked Spine: A Scottish Bookshop Mystery

Review:I was somewhat disappointed with this book. An interesting premise but waiting to read second book for final judgment. Kept on reading because of the setting since I love Edinburgh but the plot and characters were not very interesting. Am a Paige Shelton fan but will wait for more books in this new series. I'm glad I waited for the paperback version Read more

Review:When I started reading book 1, I was not expecting too much. By the time I finished it, I realized what a treasure I had found! An Order of Coffee and Tears: A Cozy Diner Mystery

Review:I think I bought this book rather inexpensively from Book Bub and was happy with it. It was a easy read and one that kept my interest throughout. I would say a somewhat predictable ending but that's OK there were a couple surprises throughout to make up for it. A good summer beach read. Read more

Hiss of Death: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery
Hiss of Death: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery

Review:I love Rita Mae Brown, so I tolerate her tendency to have the characters launch into preachy monologues that rarely sound like the way people usually talk. I think her older novels are vastly superior to the mystery series, but I keep reading them. There are a few things in this book that were made me really not like this book.

First, the some of the segues were clunky.

Second - and I will admit I may be being a touch snobby about this - but the book included a medical doctor talki... Read more

Pawing Through the Past: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery
Pawing Through the Past: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery

Review:High school reunions can be murder but in this case it is literally true. The returning class mates have more than wrinkles, added pounds and bald spots to worry about. Someone is killing the class one by one and Harry is a suspect and possibly the next victem. The suspense builds from page to page as the committee plans the big event, Harry buys a new truck, and both Harry and Miranda are wooed by old flames. As usual the animals are a step ahead of the humans and come to the rescue when nee... Read more

Sour Puss: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery
Sour Puss: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery

Review:It maybe RMB has finally become financially comfortable enough to not work as hard at her books as in the past... maybe she is meeting new groups of people with her fame, maybe it's a combination of both or more. I'm not exactly sure, but this I do understand... Sour Puss is definitely not her best. It is too easy to figure out the plot just by reading the character introductions....Harry's character seems to wax and fawn over the Kluges and their social, financial and political views, and Ha...
