Review:If you love the Sherlock Holmes mythos you'll like this one in spite of itself. This is a spirited, fun--if fantastical--first mystery from a talented author who is sure to produce better. The plot is double, told in alternating chapters between near current day and 1900. The current day plot features Harold White, virgin Sherlockian with all the 20-something angst of a Gen-Yer finally on his own. The love interest is Sarah, the curiously quiet but beautiful one who is more--and less--than s... Read more
Review:I purchased this book and started reading a mediocre mystery when I found a section of explicit sexual content. The sexual content pages clearly has been inserted into the book at printing. The printing nor the pages are aligned with the main story although clearly bound together at printing. The publisher needs to be notified to review and recall this book. Although you say return is not necessary, I am returning this book for your review and necessary corrective action. Read more

Wendy, you really pulled me in to this one. Loved it, I couldn't put it down. I was really scared at the beginning.
You must read this book, by the sounds of it there will be another one to follow. I can't wait to start it!!

Review:I really enjoyed this book and the twists it has. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because some phrases and word play is used too many times not to be seen as redundant. But, I very much liked the book and will most likely read the next book in the series. Read more
Review:The story is good but there are many, many mistakes in my Kindle edition. Besides typos, the narrative switches from first person to third for one sentence and one character is called Eskimo (he is not an Eskimo) rather than his name that starts with an E. Maybe the hardcover is better. Read more
Review:Lots of good things to say: interesting plot, evident love for and understanding of animals, well-presented by reader, I was concentrating with such attention that I really think my driving improved. This was my first of Rosenfelt's work but I would definitely read/listen to another one. Read more
Review:I'd give "Hounded" 6 stars if that were possible. Loved every page. I try to read it slowly because I know it will be next year before there is another Andy Carpenter novel. I love all of David Rosenfelt's writings and I highly recommend all his works. And I've never been one for reading......until Andy Carpenter came into my life! Read more

Review:Though Georgette Heyer specialized in Regency romances, this one is Georgian, set in the 1770s. It's great fun. Horatia, the teenage heroine, talks a British earl twice her age into wedding her. It's what was known as a "marriage of convenience" -- a bargain in which the earl gets a wife and, presumably, an heir, and his bride's family gets a financial rescue. No love is involved on either side, but both husband and wife profess themselves to be well satisfied with the arrangement.
