Review:This book has been absolutely great. I appreciate the detailed framework but it doesn't bog you down. I use it in combination with the free app Duolingo and feel like I've made 11/2 years progress in 6 months.
On the CD they speak slowly, clearly and pause for you to practice between each word. I continue to go back and brush up or jump ahead if I need grammar help for Duolingo. Read more
Review:I've been struggling with Russian for about 4 years now. Started learning it during high school by writing down word lists I wanted to know, reading an old textbook I bought online. LingQ gave me some good success, Assimil too, but I was still pretty far from being anywhere notable. I read this book and used its methods for about 6 months, and with the magic of flashcards I was able to really focus on the areas in which I was lacking. Anywho, I decided to sign up for a Russian class at my univer... Read more
Review:The information itself seems okay I have yet to look at it, but the binding was poorly done and the book came as new but has a sticker labeling damaged stuck on the back. The book has chunks of pages that are loose rather then glued to the binding and it was therefore noticeable before even opening it. I paid full price for a new copy and received a damaged copy. Review:I very seldom write reviews for the Kindle books I read. However, I had to make an exception for "Sleepers"! This was absolutely the best book I have read in a long time. Although this true story was shocking and touching, the author also made me laugh as he recounted his experiences in his Catholic school and the interaction with his friends. My heart goes out to all who had to endure such atrocities while incarcerated. I wish this would be made in to a movie. Read more
