Dramas & Plays
Review:I bought this book because I had read high fidelity before, and I think this author has a great ability to conduct a story. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down.
I can really recommend this book! Read more
Review:I really liked all three brothers in the series, and while you could read any of the books as a stand alone, they were much better as a series. I really liked how other characters were brought back in and you got to see how things went for them as well. Read more
Review:You know how some authors mention they are putting out a new series and you start jumping up and down, nearly breaking your computer to get to the pre-order screen? Jill Shalvis is one of those authors for me. I know I will form a connection with her characters that will put a smile on my face and a glow in my cheeks. Well, this little ducky got an email from Ms Shalvis’s virtual assistant asking me (little ole me) to read and review Second Chance Summer. To say I was excited would be an underst... Read more
Review:I love everything that Jill Shalvis writes, but this was not my favorite. I wanted more "encounters" between Stone and Emma and less angst. Emma is so uptight that I wanted to shake her several times to see the big sexy man in front of her. I always recommend reading her books in order to better know the characters in the series which I didn't do with this one. I think her Lucky Harbor series is better than this one. Read more
Review:As part of my Directing class in school, I've had to some plays in preparation for the scene work that's to come later in the semester. One of those plays was Lorraine Hansberry's classic A Raisin in the Sun.
First, I want to talk about the positives. A Raisin in the Sun truly is a moving play. It's honestly one of the best examples of how good American theatre can be. It's expertly paced, each act ending with a crescendo that begs the audience to come back after the intermission. The cha... Read more
Review:Just what the rancher needed. Rancher Matthew Clay was as solid as an oak, unmovable as granit. Until temporary housekeeper Jaimie Greene came to the Double C. She was the queen of calanity, riskier than a Wyoming winter. And feisty redhead's tempting innocence and sassy rebukes drove Matthew to distraction. But experience had taught him that a tenderhearted city gal didn't belong on a remote cattle ranch and she woildn't stay. Still he'd never met a woman so determined to prove herself. ... Read more
Review:"Fences" has become an undisputed classic of American theater. One of the famous "Pittsburgh Cycle" plays by August Wilson, it focuses on a slice of African-American life in a particular decade. The yard of Troy Maxson, set somewhere in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, sets the scene. The year is 1957, a time when some opportunities begin opening up for African-Americans - at least in some parts of the country. Racial tensions still raged throughout the US, especially in the south. In that same year, s... Read more
Review:Macy met him in a closet.
Standing precariously on the cusp of an adolescence that was already feeling strained and uncomfortable, Macy Sorenson didn’t want to be where she was at that particular moment in time. The awkward and dark home her father deemed appropriate for weekend vacationing didn’t feel like a home at all, it felt like a dungeon. The fact that he’d only wanted to buy the place based upon one of her mom’s rules only served to make the place even more stark and cold; there w... Read more
Review:I fell in love with Taylor Jenkins Reid's writing the first time I read her debut novel, Forever, Interrupted, and have since read every book she's written as soon as I can get my hands on them. Needless to say, I had her newest, One True Loves, pre-ordered and dove right in as soon as it was delivered. I was once again absolutely delighted with the complex, emotional story she presented, one that had me not only eager to see how the characters would react to the impossible-seeming situation but... Review:THIS WAS AN INCREDIBLE BOOK. So many things going on among each of the characters, but still easy to follow and they're all intertwined. Such a page turner, I finished this book in less than 3 days. Kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next and it was not predictable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Read more
