Review:Great read, take with a grain of salt....."any guru who says they know the truth, actually does not. The answer to the great mystery cannot be given, only received" stay open to the Divine and your question will be answered in a way only you can understand. Read more
Review:Bought this for my 10-year-old granddaughter. She lives several states away from me so I wasn't able to review the book myself but she did read me a few jokes (which were funny!). She enjoyed her book but I think she enjoyed her "Silly Riddles for Silly Kids" more. Read more
Review:This is classic Twain. It is hilarious. If you want some entertaining reading, this is a great choice for a medium length introduction to Mark Twain. The "negro dialect" is easy to read once you get the hang of it. You do need to get past the use of the "n word" though as in many of the writings from that period. The almanac quotes keep you waiting for the next ones. Read more
Review:Even swaddled in turgid academic jargon, a tedious childbirth story is still a tedious childbirth story, and a “fluidly gendered” love story is still just a bourgeois romance. Citing all the equally jargon-loving academics and writers that you know or cribbed from doesn’t make you look smarter, just more derivative. Memoir need not devolve, as this one does, into mind-numbing solipsism—coincidentally, I was reading “The Beautiful Struggle” at the same time as I read “The Argonauts,” and Nelson w... Read more
Review:Honestly I was a bit disappointed with this book. The designs are really cool, but it’s pretty common to find lines that are faded (like a copy of a copy of a copy) and a lot of lines look pixelated as well.
Not bad for the price but I’d recommend getting a different coloring book. Read more
Review:I am no intellectual, and stumbled upon this book through a ladies' magazine article asking celebs what they were reading. Elizabeth Shue, whose talent I really enjoy, mentioned Letters to a Young Poet. The book is for the open-minded and the big- hearted, teachable few that possess the intellectual chops to parse and absorb the beauty of Rilke's words and insight. It is both a comfort and an inspiration. I LOVE this book. Buy it, and share some time with it, and yourself. Read more
Review:"Be patient with all that is unsolved in your life and learn to love the questions themselves." (From Letters to a Young Poet). Rainer M.
Rilke challenges us to accept the challenges of each day gracefully and with expectation. His thoughts continue to uplift me. Read more
Review:A delightful and unique book that charms you all the way over with the adorable drawings and interesting trivia.
Did you know that owls cannot move their eyes?
Or that the Chinese leather turtle pees through its mouth?
Well, I didn't!
The illustrations are fun, drawn with a light touch, simple but excellently detailed. A great combination of art and biology and would be a great addition in a child's learning period. To anyone's reading curriculum actually!

Review:Swift was a satirist that defined the word. Before there was the Leftist cry of "Eat the Rich", this eighteenth century writer proposed a more practical solution to the problem of to many mouths to feed, and not enough to fill them. Cut out the middleman (pun intended) and "Eat the Poor". The young ones are the tenderest. Read more
