2015 International Plumbing Code Commentary (Includes IPSDC)
2015 International Plumbing Code Commentary (Includes IPSDC)

Review:ICC system of organization & cross referencing seems to be set up so that the authors can prove how obtuse they can make something. I have worked with Building Codes for 40-years and they just seem to get more illogical in organization each issue. Going to multiple locations to try to piece together the requirements for an issue often leads to varying interpretations of the intent to no one's benefit. Read more

How We Came to Be the Only Humans on Earth - Lone Survivors
How We Came to Be the Only Humans on Earth - Lone Survivors

Review:There is a lot of thought-provoking information buried in this book. At times though, it would have been nice to have more detailed charts of timelines and evolutionary trees for we visual types. I'm rather dissatified with the Kindle version of teh book as the are many references to fact on certain pages numbers - we I cannot see! Read more

Left Behind Collection: Boxed Set Volumes 1-5
Left Behind Collection: Boxed Set Volumes 1-5

Review:I am working my way through this series after having owned the first few books for some years. I have to admit, I was pretty skeptical about it and didn't think I would like them at first. However, I have found the plot to be very engaging and the books are extremely well written. Furthermore, I am actually learning about scripture just by reading them. And the interweaving of the scripture is very well done-- you learn as the characters learn. I am looking forward to finding time to finish t... Read more

Einstein's Outrageous Legacy (Commonwealth Fund Book Program)
Einstein's Outrageous Legacy (Commonwealth Fund Book Program)

Review:Science fiction can only hope to emulate the deep intricacy and magnificent wonder that the reality of our universe can boast. While seemingly complex and evasive in nature, the laws that govern our universe hold answers that may astound even the most imaginitive. Kip Thorne has elegantly captured the "majic" of the universe and tamed the unknown into an understandable context.
Understadable, that is, for anyone you has ever wondered about the universe and the mysteries it holds. Thorne's ... Read more

Hole's Human Anatomy & Physiology
Hole's Human Anatomy & Physiology

Review:I just transferred and I took one semester of anatomy at Milligan College and one semester of anatomy at King University. King required the holes human anatomy and physiology book and I have 3 times the amount of trouble reading than one then the 1 Milligan had me which was visual anatomy and physiology 2. There are very few pictures and the wording is hard to comprehend. I just use my old anatomy text book instead of bothering with the Holes because it blows a fat one. It confused me on topics ... The Re-Enslavement of Black Americans from the Civil War to World War II

Review:Provides information that has not been reported that can help us all understand what happened to Black people in this country and the implications for the future as well as repeating it in the present. It is a very time read. I wish educators, especially history teachers would read this book as they are the front line in providing perspective to the rest of us. Read more

227 Quite Interesting Facts to Blow Your Socks Off
227 Quite Interesting Facts to Blow Your Socks Off

Review:The QI writing team does it once again, this time compiling facts from ten years of the show into a rapid-fire hitlist of information. What's nice here is that the facts aren't totally random. Some are grouped together according to theme or word, and they've even got citations for each in a lengthy index in the back.

While other books claim to be "bathroom readers" designed to entertain readers for the long-haul, this one would do suitably for short 15-second trips if necessary. Read more
