Review:The book is funny and quite helpful - nice material for review purposes. BUT, its merely a supplement to formal statistics study. You must have some working knowledge of the basic concepts.
I recommend BUSINESS STATISTICS (By Ken Black). He explains the concepts quite extensively. This book coupled with the humor of the Cartoon Guide will make Statistics a little but more bearable (especially for non-math majors like me:) Read more
Review:Statistics is a hard subject in any textbook, I think Statistics for Dummies helped in advanced concepts, I would have been equally as pleased if the base concepts were dummied down just a little more. Dr. Rumsey should be commended on her ability to make a tough subject more understandable. Read more

Review:This book is a classic. The 55 advises can certainly be found in other books but the strength of this book is in how the author walks you through intelligent explanations on why it is wise to follow the advise. Beside, the writing style of the author makes the reading of this book as enjoyable as reading a good novel.
This is highly recommended as you will learn while having fun. Read more
Review:This book has some real golden nuggets and expands upon a type of budget I have never heard of. Really curious and willing now to take action on these strategies. Could have used some pictures of manually written and or excel budget sheet. Read more

While not new to me, I thoroughly enjoyed this review of the action principle, the Lagrangian and Hamiltonian formulation of the equations of motion, symmetries and conservation laws, and Poisson brackets. For those who think these fancy techniques are superfluous, and all mechanical problems can be solved with F = ma, the authors suggest setting up the equations of motion for the double pendulum. Review:I am having trouble in a college physics class that uses the book Modern Physics and the master physics website. I got this as a study aid. I did not intend for it to replace the textbook only supplement it. The book did not contain the formulas that I need. That is why I am only giving it 2 stars. Read more
Review:This book arrived quickly which I appreciated, but I returned it after the semester as I was renting it and I never received the price adjustment. Instead I was charged the purchase price.
I contacted Amazon about this because the cc used to make the rental had expired and I didn't know if they needed a new card # or would send a check. Amazon said they would send a check. I've contacted them twice by email but still haven't received a price adjustment and no I now longer have the book... Read more
