The Last Humans: The Complete Trilogy
The Last Humans: The Complete Trilogy

Review:This could have been a good book. It has an interesting dystopia/sci-fi premise, and a few decent plot twists. The writing, however? Awful. It needs some seriously heavy editing to be a good read. The characters are flat, uninteresting, and have not believable. Action sequences are interrupted by lengthy unnecessary explanations of the main character's thoughts and improbably long conversations. Plot development between action is by contrast brief and simplistic. The main character has no real s... Read more

Xanathar's Guide to Everything
Xanathar's Guide to Everything

Review:This book is a perfect blend of campaign neutral supplements for both players and DMs. In XGtE, Traps are a large focus, and when combined with item tables and dungeon generation from the DMG allow writers to easily fill out a story mad-libs style with dice rolls. All in all, it's a strong supplement that was well worth the price. Read more

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game - Advanced Player’s Guide
Pathfinder Roleplaying Game - Advanced Player’s Guide

Review:This book is awesome. It adds to the already superb Pathfinder RPG by giving new options for players.

Even if you never play as an alchemist, cavalier, inquisitor, oracle, summoner, or witch there will still be something for your character in this book. And for the GMs there are new game mechanics for both your NPCs and the players including the Hero Point System (note that the book takes exception to these and has a section for the feats, spells, and items as the system itself is optiona... Storm King's Thunder (Dungeons & Dragons)
Storm King's Thunder (Dungeons & Dragons)

Review:The flow chart is very helpful to help keep track of where they players should be but around the middle of the story it leaves the players in a very sandbox style environment the DM will have a lot to manage. Overall it seems like a great story with the ever dreaded escort mission for the players that will open or close opportunities for players leading them to make certain moral decisions that might create lasting effects to the story. Volo's Guide to Monsters
Volo's Guide to Monsters

Review:Nice to have. Was a little disappointed after reading through it considering it costs the same as a PHB, MM, or DMG, but overall its OK. I like most of the monsters included, just wish it was a little more. Read more

Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide (D&D Accessory)
Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide (D&D Accessory)

Review:If you are new to the Forgotten Realms setting in D&D then this book might be for you. The majority of the content is backstory on the various areas of the sword coast and there is a very small portion at the end that has new class descriptions. Since this is the 5th edition and there has been similar books to this in previous editions, I was hoping for a lot more character classes that would work with 5e.

I don't recommend getting this book unless you are planning on DM'ing in this s... Read more

Dragons of Winter Night (Dragonlance Chronicles - Volume II)
Dragons of Winter Night (Dragonlance Chronicles - Volume II)

Review:A great trip down childhood nostalgic reading. Sadly, as an adult, the characters fall flat and are very juvenile and poorly built out. The dynamics don't hold up.
However, it's a fun world and easy to get lost in the war and dragons. Read more

World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume 2
World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume 2

Review:World of WarCraft is a nearly 25 year old franchise that was originally created to be an extension of the WarHammer universe. When GamesWorkshop decided that they wanted to go another direction, Blizzard said 'Okay, sure, we will make our own game franchise'. The rest, as they say, is history.

Which is why they need these books. Lets be honest. Things have changed in 25 years. Things that the development team wrote way back then probably seemed super cool and awesome to include. But... Read more

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Bestiary 1

Review:I've been very happy with all the Pathfinder resources that I've purchased. The books seem sturdy. The artwork is good. The content is good. The presentation of the material in this book is very good. Flipping through the pages made me remember looking through the original monster manuals when I first got those in the 80s. Good stuff.
