Don't Look Back
Don't Look Back

Review:Gregg Hurwitz never disappoints. I couldn't put it down; I was reading every chance I could. There was some graphic violence but no more than you would expect given the circumstances. It was not dwelt on. There was only a minor amount of sexual content and it was not graphic. I loved this book as I have others of his that I've read. Read more

Shards of Honor (Vorkosigan Saga)
Shards of Honor (Vorkosigan Saga)

Review:The plot and dialogue of this first installment of the Vokosigan Saga were, in my opinion, reminiscent of a young adult romance novel. However, I enjoyed it and intend to read the next installment (chronologically) Barrayar. If your looking for hard scifi or epic adventure, then this is not your book. If your looking for a relatively light character-driven story, then you'll like this book just fine. Read more

The Prisoner of Limnos (Penric & Desdemona Book 6)
The Prisoner of Limnos (Penric & Desdemona Book 6)

Review:Our protagonist,Penric lives in a medieval style world where magic works and demons exist. What is known as a demon is actually the essence/consciosness/spirit of any person that for various reasons passes into another body at the moment of death. In Penric’s case he is carrying the spirits of 10 different women and for good measure two animals as well. The spirits he carries vacillate between a desire to dominate, gratitude for being carried and, increasingly, a genuine affection for Penric a... Read more

A Curve in the Road
A Curve in the Road

Review:I will repeat what others have said, because it is true. This book was just…Wow. Life can change in an instant, and Abbie’s does. She had what she thought was the perfect life, but everything changes in an instant, leaving her reeling and trying to figure out her way forward. This was an amazing read. The characters were so well done, I felt the emotions right along with them. The story line moves so easily and quickly, I found myself reading and turning pages just as quickly. I didn’t want to... Last Wish (Highland Magic Book 4)
Last Wish (Highland Magic Book 4)

Review:I am very disappointed that I finished the book, as it means saying goodbye to Uh, Integrity Adair. Very few authors can keep my interest at the level that Helen Harper maintained, and even fewer would have me in the stomach-twisting, knotted anxiety and frustration that I experienced when Aifric Montcrief had been responsible for the death of a beloved character and had set Integrity up to take the fall. In fact, I believe it was last done by J.K. Rawlings in the Prisoner of Azkeban.

So,... Read more

Talking God (A Leaphorn and Chee Novel Book 9)
Talking God (A Leaphorn and Chee Novel Book 9)

Review:3 stars because it is Tony Hillerman, who I like. But this is tedious, unrealistic and disjointed. I have read the whole series, now I am re reading because I thought I would enjoy it. And comparing it a bit to Anne Hillerman. I think I picked the wrong one to re read because I was feeling nostalgic. Read more

The Boy I Hate
The Boy I Hate

Review:In an Oyster Shell – A steamy swoon-worthy romance that will leave you falling in love with Samantha and Tristan.

The Pearls – I loved the concept of the story that is embodied in the title. The boy Samantha hates really is because he triggers the unknown for her. It makes the reader empathetic to the age-old conundrum of fearing the unknown.

The characters made this story delectable. Samantha was beautiful and flawed making her relatable and encouraging me to want to root for her.... Read more

A Small Town Romance (Wardham Book 2) - What Once Was Perfect
A Small Town Romance (Wardham Book 2) - What Once Was Perfect

Review:Overall I enjoyed this book, I would have enjoyed it more if the author would have included an epilogue at the end of the story to tie up the ending.
I enjoyed the pace of this story and how the romance developed between the two main characters in the story. Read more

A Lady Out of Time: Helen Foster Book 1
A Lady Out of Time: Helen Foster Book 1

Review:It's not easy finding good time travel stories. That makes this one a real treasure. It's well-written and the story flows.

Helen Foster is a soldier in 2089. She is selected for a special mission. Helen must travel back to 1853 and attend an auction, buy the plans for a terribly destructive weapon called Warmaker, then destroy the plans.

But first things first. Since she can take nothing with her, the first order of business is to find some clothes. Then she must blackmail E... Read more
