Review:The book, written in 1957, is based on an important number of discussions with refugees who were fleeing Hungary, after the anti-communist revolution against communism was crushed by the Soviet tanks. The presentation of the events of the revolution is vivid and realistic, as long as it does is limited to facts and does not attempt to explain what happened in Hungary in 1956. Because besides the presentation of the events, the book about the Bridge at Andau sadly demonstrates the inability of a ... Read more
Review:It is surprising that a book about which you already know the outcome can still be so intriguing, but Warnings Unheeded is extremely so. The book was well written, highly detailed and extremely thoroughly researched. He brings to life stories that I had read about in the past, but never felt from the victim's point of view. I cannot imagine just how the author was able to organize all the different angles from so many that were affected, but he succeeded in doing so. I hope that the lessons wit... Read more
Review:Eric Blehm does it again! After "The Only Thing Worth Dying For" and "Fearless" one might think Mr. Blehm would miss a beat with his new book "Legend." He doesn't! Another great story, another great book. Real life heroes come alive once again. Couldn't recommend it more! Read more
Review:This book was good. It seem such a real account of day to day trying to survive. My single disappointment was his pleasure in making fun of the Germans ...When after liberation he was "in charge" and during rank would make them to things to make himself feel better. I felt that he did it exactly what they did.. took their past experience to try to hurt them. Sometimes no matter how hard it is you just have to let go. Read more

We follow Stilwell as he meets an exceptional number of Chinese leaders of all political persuasions and developes an intimate knowledge of China. Flown to China after the start of World War II, General Stilwell is face... Read more

Review:Really great insight about her family life and Kyle's military life. Great insight on PTSD and how it can affect your family. Great read for those who might know what the armed forces actually go through in their many possible tours of duty and how each men and women respect each other as brothers. Read more
Review:Part way through reading, it is more succinct in some ways than Willard Sterne Randall, Benedict Arnold: Patriot and Traitor (1990)
There are some points of information in Philbrick that did not appear in Randall, but there is material in Randall that's not in Philbrick.
There is more detail in Randall in some aspects.
