Review:When one follows Ursula Vernon's art and quirky storytelling sensibilities for as long as I have, one knows what to expect from her work. A respectful knowledge of nature's actual workings mixed seamlessly with the absurdities of her imagination, practical and pragmatic characters coping with singularly surreal situations, and small cute critters overcoming monstrous and weird obstacles. That having been said, there's always SOMETHING in her stories that catches me off guard and stands out in ... Read more
Review:I bought this Tigers hat for my granddaughter's 10th Birthday. She is a big Detroit Tiger fan and attended a game with her family the next week proudly decked out in her Tiger gear. The hat is well made of quality materials. Doesn't look like a cheap kiddie cap, but a miniature adult-looking cap. A very nice item at a great price. (adjustable too, don't worry about the fit. Review:The cover art shipping now (July '08) is the beige one in the alternate images -- a useless and dull cover compared with the exciting view of Mrs. Frisby and the crow Jeremy against blue on display at this page. I wish I'd bought this in a bookstore instead, and might have had another choice of cover art. At least the interior art is the excellent classic version. Read more

Review:Great story for young listeners or readers. I started reading chapter books with my 3 year old with the classic Winnie the Pooh series and then moved to the Beverly Cleary Ralph the Mouse series. My 4 year old loved this book and couldn't wait to go to bed to see what happened next with this adventurous mouse. Anything that gets my son into bed is a must have! Read more
Review:Great book for a child just learning to read. Get ready for making toast every time this book appears. Mercy is a pig who lives in a house and enjoys buttered toast. She loves it so much that even when second floor starts to cave in, she runs off looking for buttered toast. The kids I read this book to snuggle up with their buttered toast as we cuddle up to read Mercy Watson to the Rescue. Any book by Kate DiCamillo is a treasure. Read more

Review:(Originally posted on Michelle & Leslie's Book Picks book blog.)
Rain Reign was amazing, powerful, emotional and I really related to it. I'm giving it 5/5 stars.
To tell you guys the truth, when I was contacted to review** Rain Reign I didn't quite know what to expect, especially because it's described as a "powerful story" and "brilliantly told." I mean, I devoured all of Ms. Martin's Babysitter's Club books I could get my hands on when I was in the fourth and fifth grade, but... Read more
Review:Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy is a most delightful book with wonderful illustration, which any little girl will enjoy. I bought this book for my five-year-old neighbor whom I adore. She has so much in commen with Nancy; expressing herself through some strange combinations of outfits, she then expects me to admire. and through the way she speaks. I just know she will use all the "fancy" words Nancy uses. What's more, her parents got the dog she loves from the animal shelter. Skylar will adore th... Read more
