Review:It showed how far we have gone away from contact with the enemy to win the war like in WW2. To many lawyers making up rules of engagement and prosecuting for violation that would have got a medal instead of court marshalled. Read more

Review:The likelihood of me picking this book up, let alone reading it were slim to nothing. One evening I stumbled upon the interview with Bill Maher and Pat Tillman's raucous brother, Richard. Richard was brazenly unfiltered, passionate, emotional, and enviably brave when speaking of his brother and offering his position on Pat's life and subsequent death.
I've never moved more swiftly through a book. Not only did it describe an absolutely fascinating man, it illuminated the intricacies of ... Read more
Review:Webb's "The Red Circle" is a excellent reflection on how much individuals can and are willed to sacrifice for their country. They will suffer the loss of comrades, close friends and in Webb's case the own family due to divorce. While the book offers extensive insights into the Navy SEAL training and how Webb became the manager for the Navy Sniper course and how he reinvented the curriculum, the book is a bit short on actual experienes in Afghanistan. Not that book is lacking credibility but some... Read more
Review:Since it was proven later that Mr. Manchester fabricated much of this story as his own experience, I was disappointed. It still would have been a great work if he had not tried to possess it as his own story and had just presented as a tortured look back at the Pacific war through his interpretation of the period and the people when revisited during the contemporary time of the book's release. Review:My approach to reading One Bullet Away came through my battalion's e-mail which arrived one day with the audible ding I'm so used to hearing. It should be really interesting."
And interesting it was. When I met him Fick seemed to be a rather cool, modest charecter. He remin... Read more
Review:Just finished the book, and it definitely falls into the category of books that I wish I hadn't spent the time reading. It's kind of a muddled mess, and has no coherent narrative. Not one of the better books coming out of the current wars. Read more
Review:Great, quick read - as a follower of Force12, St. Martins, and the SOFREP crew, Irving's book is fun and lives up to his reputation. Don't get this if you're expecting technical / tactical knowledge - while it does encompass some training aspects of the Rangers/SOF, etc., The Reaper is the story of him; how and why Irving became what he is/was. Review:Really great insight about her family life and Kyle's military life. Great insight on PTSD and how it can affect your family. Great read for those who might know what the armed forces actually go through in their many possible tours of duty and how each men and women respect each other as brothers. Read more
