Lessons in Etiquette (Schooled in Magic Book 2)
Lessons in Etiquette (Schooled in Magic Book 2)

Review:The second installment of the series is fully as satisfying as the first, returning our favorite characters and settings while broadening the scope of the world we have been given a taste of before. If you are looking for a straightforward sword and magic adventure you won't be disappointed. Read more

The Sergeant's Apprentice (Schooled in Magic Book 11)
The Sergeant's Apprentice (Schooled in Magic Book 11)

Review:As he writes books they get better. Emily is growing more and more. The author is very good at tying the books together. Lots of insight for long time readers. Maybe hard to understand if you have not read the rest of the series. Looking forward to the next book Read more

Work Experience (Schooled in Magic Book 4)
Work Experience (Schooled in Magic Book 4)

Review:Schooled in Magic Book 4 is well worth reading, provided you have read books one to three. My only complaint is there is going to be a book 5 and I can't get it yet! Emily has been transported to another world/dimension by an evil necromancer and she is not your average dopey teen, so she gradually adapts to a rather weird medieval scene quite well, despite not realising the consequences of her actions. Hats off to Mr Nuttall and I can't wait to see how Emily progresses and how she tempers and g... Read more

If I Stay
If I Stay

Review:I'd like to say that I'm a pretty quick reader, this book however, took me awhile to finish. It didn't really keep my attention. There wasn't enough going on. It's also the 3rd book I've read with the same storyline. Read more

A Throne of Glass Novella (Throne of Glass series Book 1)
A Throne of Glass Novella (Throne of Glass series Book 1)

Review:I really enjoyed the characters in this novella. It was refreshing to have a fresh set of characters to learn about. I loved Ansel and the dynamic she plays with Celaena. It’s interesting to see the difference in the two assassins’ and learn about how Ansel grew up. I also loved the Mute Master. He is kinder than Arrobyn Hamel and treats his assassins better than Arrobyn ever would. I liked that the Silent Assassins were more of a brotherhood and worked together.

The change of setting was... Read more

The Magician (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Book 2)
The Magician (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Book 2)

Review:I read the reviews and decided to give The Alchemyst a go. Considering that it was the set up for a six book set, it was decent. The Magician was ok too. Not a lot of character development. The twins changed back and forth between mildly interesting and annoying. Flamel, Dee, and Macheivalli are all basically the same character, written from different points of view in a constant contest to see who is the most clever. Joan of Arc is not interesting at all. Francis comes off as a rakish bu... Read more

If You Find Me: A Novel
If You Find Me: A Novel

Review:The story of sisters, Carey and Janessa is heart breaking and intriguing. Part of me wanted to put the book down and never pick it up again and the other part didn't want to stop reading until I knew the sisters full story (this part won). I found the relationships in the book really strange and many aspects of the book very hard to believe - such as their quick recovery from a traumatic childhood and their cleverness after having no education. A Zoella Book Club 2017 novel - The Start of Me and You
A Zoella Book Club 2017 novel - The Start of Me and You

Review:I enjoyed this book so much. Mostly, there were two things I wanted to praise about this book. They might be a little spoilery.

1. I LOVED that the four girlfriends in this book were true friends that got along and stuck together. They had minor disagreements now and then, but there was no major betrayal. I've read too many books lately where one of the friends turns into a jerk either because of a boy or because they needed to be popular. I hate that. Hurray for true and loyal frie... Read more

A Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance (Hosting Gods Book 1)
A Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance (Hosting Gods Book 1)

Review:I liked this book--read the entire thing, kept me engaged and I liked the characters. It is a super slow-burn reverse harem, if it even qualifies as that. I mean I don't even think there's a real kiss. Which is probably fine, considering the main character is only fifteen and her 'harem' is her stepsiblings. But the book was sweet, and the plot interesting, and I'm curious about where it's heading! Appropriate for young adults, and honestly the entire thing was aimed for a younger audience which...
