Review:Interesting and overall well written book about the war between Ford and Ferrari in Formula I, centered around LeMans, including why it happened, what was at stake, with many details about what unfolded over an about 10 year period. I am not a car buff and found this book very interesting. Read more
Review:So these guys want to have an adventure. Great idea. Then they decide somebody else should pay for the trip, because god forbid they spend their own money. Then they decide a company should give them bikes to do the trip, because god forbid they use their own bikes. Then they take a support crew...
It has interesting parts about people they meet and such that kept me interested. However, I was lost on the whole "adventure" aspect because everything was laid out for them / paid for / p... Read more
Review:We love this manual. We recently got a 79 Superbeetle and I borrowed this copy from my local library. I didn't even know they carried this kind of thing. Turns out, this book is GREAT! Gives you information not found in other manuals AND says it in a way that you don't need to be a mechanic to understand how to do it. This is one of the best purchases I ever made on Amazon. Review:This is the best unbiased insight into the operations of the auto industry with great insights into the best practices for design, manufacturing, and marketing. The lessons taught are applicable to any manufacturing industry, especially one that operates on a global basis. It shatters myth, mysteries, and legends and replaces it with scientific data that solidifies the concepts of lean business. A must read for all manufacturing professionals at any level. Read more
Review:The account is riveting and fast moving, hard to put down. If anything is missing, it is a wrap up or lessons learned. The message is certainly there, but the ending is a bit up in the air, like thee is a concluding chapter. Read more
Review:Good way to keep him entertained. He loves the pictures and reading about the trucks. I bought it originally when he was at the Drs. Office with me. It kept him entertained while the doctor saw me. Mission accomplished! He has read it many times since. Read more
Review:I have yet to finish this book (I will... eventually) but I purchased this book at the same time I purchased "Sportbike Suspension Tuning" from Andrew Trevitt. I started reading both in parallel but after just 20 or so pages I stopped reading this one. My problem is that I am at a loss as to the purpose of this book. On the surface of it, it sounds like they want to teach a noob about motorcycle suspension. But then you, as the reader, make the mistake of actually opening the book. Because ... Read more
Review:I think this was recommended on Simone Elkeles' blog and oh was it great! Rich, sick girl loves to race cars ---meets bad, tattoo foster kid and against all odds they fall in love. I know girls and reluctant readers will love this book. I am looking forward to the next one! Read more
Review:I purchased this book after reading about it in a motorcycle article. I found it to be a pretty good read, although I find it hard to believe someone in the 1970's would choose a triumph motorcycle to do this trip on, knowing their history and reputation during the 70's! I thoroughly enjoyed Ted Simons' writing about his experiences and would recommend this book. Read more
Review:While not always super in depth on some topics, most will give the reader a pretty solid understanding of a bike style, systems and terms. A riding course will probable make much more sense and help put what this book covers into play more completely. I have been riding for 28+ yrs and still enjoyed the read. I gave it 4 stars because I felt the Authors could have added some more personal experiences with "Oh crap" moments that would benefit the reader. An interesting side note is I have a h... Read more
