Review:First let me say I love the Living Language series. I am huge language enthusiast and I have used many of Living Language's products (Living Language Arabic, Ultimate Arabic, Ultimate French, both versions of Living Languages for Hindi, Spoken World Farsi) and although I love them they are not always good. I go this one for Christmas and I can't put it down! I have finished the first part of Genki last year (which is another awesome textbook for Japanese) but although I finished it I still felt ... Review:This was my first purchase after I decided to learn Korean. I studied on my own with these books for 3 months and was perpetually confused. Their explanation of the rules of liaison and the difference between 있다 and 이다 were less than helpful. There were never enough details and I had difficulty finding answers to my many many questions. I never progressed past the first book and almost gave up studying. I found online conversation partners and they led me to TTMIK.com where you can get FREE... Read more
Review:We purchased this book for our travels to Ecuador. We never left the hotel without it! We had bare minimum Spanish speaking skills and with the help of this book we could communicate much easier! Highly recommended. Read more

Review:Arrived on time as posted date arrival by Amazon as I bought this brand new. The book though thick and bit big but is not heavy.. most of all the prints are big that you don't need an eyeglass to find words. The main word you look are bolder in print that makes it easy to find its synonyms under it. I recommend this thesaurus and Amazon. Thank you. Read more
Review:Recently I bought this book and immediately made some textual changes to my company website based upon the contents of this and "Hot Button Marketing" by Barry Feig. The two mixed together have already begun to pay dividends in terms of conversions of visitors into prospects which will lead to customers and/or partners.
The lessons I learned as I read some of the material:
1) You may believe you're using the right words to sell (as I did prior to reading over the book), but there a... Read more
Review:This text gets an extra star because I'm familiar with the original copy.
The pages are a recycled mess, with blurred pictures in an array of
font sizes. The pictures are minuscule without a microscope.
I'm certain I have my three decades old copy, which remain
( sealed in a trunk ) in pristine condition. I just wanted to present
a newer copy as a gift to a tiny ballerina hopeful. The Grant Manual
is a great text, but not in this recycled brown paper-version. Read more
Review:Pro:
The pictures and exercises in the book are helpful
Pro/Con:
The book teaches you words from every dialect of Spanish which means you will learn certain words that may not come up in other Spanish speaking places. example? Vosotros. Only used in Spain. -__-;'
Con:
The cost!! How has textbook/ online lab prices become so outrageous. D:<
Overall: I had to get it for my class and it did a decent job teaching the basics of Spanish. Read more
Review:The recording offered here by Blackstone Audiobooks is an astonishing bargain. Frederick Davidson's unabridged (13-hour 11-CD) rendition of Jackson-Knight's classic prose translation of the Aeneid is well done and at a price that beggers belief. The only reason I hesitated before giving it a well-deserved five stars is that I personally found Davidson's delivery to be rather camp to my English ear, which did mean I had to listen for a while to tune into the words. Then it was wonderful. Read more
