Myths & Legends
Review:While I appreciated the writing style this book is very hard to get through. I felt like there was never anything in it that I got joy out of reading. It's obviously good to have conflict within a story, but the reader also needs a break every now and then. This book was always catastrophe after death after murder after something else horrible. It was a book full of sad, angry, devastating emotions. I generally only prefer those sort of stories if it's based on real life events and I'm learning ... Read more
Review:What....What is this???!!! EVERYTHING you may have enjoyed about that last 4 books is now gone! (Sorry, spoiler alert!) From the first few chapters, the reader is bombarded with incredibly vulgar language and told that women are worthless, sex objects. I stopped after 5 chapters (Could not take it any more! Good on you if you can stand it for longer!) and demanded a refund! I LOVE litRPG and this series, UNTILL this book! What made the author choose take a such a horrible turn from his past wri... Review:This is a great series, and I highly recommend it not just to gamers, but also fans of fantasy novels. I was a bit skeptical when I first started reading, but the character development and plot grabs you. I was also surprised to find out that the original text is in Russian and this is an English translation. The translation is excellent. The author is translating book 4 currently with an ETA of summer 2015. I can't wait to read it. I think the author is working on the 7th and last book in... Read more
Review:Must...Have...More! Stumbled onto this series quite by accident. Read the first book and thought, "There are some weird turns of phrases there, I wonder if this is a translation?" Sure enough, the series is translated from Russian. I thoroughly enjoyed the first four books and look forward to reading his additional work. I hope everyone gets as much pleasure from these as I did. The only issue I have is that the translation gets a little dicey from time to time, but it isn't a deal breaker... Read more
Review:This is Bruce P. Grether's review, though my partner's name appears on my reviews here for reasons known only to the Amazon software!
When the astonishing, elegant, and relentless Anne Rice published THE WOLF GIFT earlier this year, I was transported, as always by her remarkable prose. The new Man Wolf Saga (she tells us the next one comes in 2013) whetted my appetite to return to her magnificent Vampires.
Only where to enter?
PANDORA has become my new entry point. She appea... Read more

Review:I liked this book because of the romance and drama! I liked the story line but thought it was be a bit repetitive. I thought their should have been more action and a little less romance. I like romance but this was a bit over wellming. Over all I liked it. The take on the Persephone myth was really good. I recommend this book for girls ages 13-17! I really liked it and can't wait for the third book! Read more

Review:This book did not disappoint! It was always going to have tough shoes to fill and it filled them well. Do I want even more? Yes! However I do have two tiny not-so amazing details.
1. It tied up way too nicely. Bad guys in jail, Furies gone, Grammy gone....
2. The blurb describing the book is completely different then what happens in the book!
But all-in-all this book was amazing! Read more
Review:In the literature hierarchy, teenage novels are at the bottom, right next to Harlequin romance books. Author Meg Cabot delivers her best guilty pleasure with `Avalon High.'
Chick lit, generally romance/humor books targeted for women, (like `The Lifetime Channel,' but in book form) is suspected to be the blame for `chick lit lite:' Chick lit's spawn for teenage girls.
Cabot's sticking to what she does best and gives her a rabid teen following: weaving together humor, romance and... Read more
