Review:Though lacking some of the style and poise of later King works, Carrie is nonetheless a chilling tale from The Master. Despite being an unlikeable personality, we feel sympathy towards the protagonist, Carrie, so at the end we aren't sure whether to condemn her actions or root for her. This is strange because King recently admitted that he never liked her, and felt that she deserved the abuse she got. Seemingly, he based Carrie White on two people that he taught before he took up writing full ti... Read more
Review:For me, this was just an average book. It is the prequel for Practical Magic, on which the movie by the same name was based. I enjoyed it at the time. It wasn't really a page turner and I probably won't remember it next week. I am not excited to read the next book and will probably just skip it. Read more
Review:This trilogy was very good and I hope that Jayne Castle writes more ... soon! She has interesting characters combined with solid story lines and clear plots but with twists and turns that keep the reader engaged. Read more
Review:Dreadfully Ever After is the last book in the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies trilogy, and to many purists, this might be a relief. I, however, wish this particular series was not ending. Don't get me wrong, I love the orignal Pride and Prejudice (the Jane Austen one, of course), and to be honest, I found the first book in this spinoff series almost distasteful. It pained me to read about the travails of Lizzie, Darcy, Jane and company with blood involved, since I found the social situations pai... Read more
Review:The concept still gets me. I love the innovative idea behind the books of Seth Grahame-Smith and the fast paced style. Maybe not the prose of Shakespeare, but his books are tremendously entertaining, this one being no exception. Read more
Review:Read this @ last 15 years ago & found it a good Holiday read--esp with kids. A fun fantasy. I've enjoyed sharing it w/friends as a Xmas gift each year. Didn't even know it was a book for young adults until now. Read it yearly... Read more

Review:I have very little to say about Tad Willaims other than he has an astounding imagination and is always a joy to read. This is the second book in the trilogy. I almost gave up after 100 pages or so of the first book. After I stuck with it I realized that the reasons for me not enjoting the first part of this book are the same reasons I loved the rest of the trilogy. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys fanatsy. Read more
Review:I like the Kate Daniels series. There's a lot of blood and fighting, but it's fairly fast moving with interesting characters and decent plots. The authors do a good job.
On the other hand, the Edge series, while again having some interesting characters, is way too dark. Read more
Review:I was hooked very early on and could hardly put the book down. As soon as I was finished, I had to read the next one. Debra does a great job of adding humor to the story, and by the end you are really rooting for the MC, even though the story centers around a demon! Read more
