Review:Disclaimers: 1. this is the first book by this author I have read; 2. I am 70 years old; 3. I love science fiction and I love James Bond. Having said that, I just don't get this book. The characters are totally forgettable (well, Ramona wasn't bad), and the plot is a mish-mash of spies, aliens, occult, attempted humor and a plethora of techno-babble. I guess I am just not the author's target audience, which is fine. But if you fall into my demographic, you may want to skip this one. Fortunately... Read more
Review:We depart from Bob's perspective to see Dominique's. Turns out shes an awful person. All she cares about is her emotions and status, and cites bob giving up on the marriage as the worst thing possible. That's immediately following her date with superman and a heavy makeout session! Her solipsism pissed me off something fierce, bob can do better. Read more
Review:Enjoyed the characters of Samantha and Chase and their story of what fate and destiny are all about. About fighting for that which you believe even if it causes your death. Of two souls destined to be together through time. Can't wait to read the continuation of their love story. Read more

Review:Sorry to say I don't remember everything about these books, only that I really enjoyed them. I haven't re-read them in I don't know how long. Of course they were in paperback at the time & when I cleaned out some books they went to a friend. When I saw they were now on e-book I thought it was time to start to read them again. So I bought the first one, will be starting it as soon as I finish the book I'm in the middle of right now. Give this first one a try & judge for yourself, I think ... Read more
Review:There are certain writers I always look forward to their next work. Mr. Straub has never disappointed me. This novel is much shorter then his pass efforts but this is due to the fact that it was exceptionally edited where not one word is wasted. The way the story shift viewpoints from character to character using both first and third person perspectives is very well done. The story line move shiftly and the conclusion ties up all the loose ends, as well as leaving us a little unsure of Mark ... Read more
Review:Being a series of stories about stories, Sandman translates from comics to short-story format exceedingly well. All of the tales contained in this volume are worth reading. The only complaint that I have is that most of them rehash the background and description of the Endless and their realms, which can get repetitive when you read through the book quickly. Read more
Review:Lisa Shearin is a remarkably talented author. Her main character Raine Benares is sassy and smart. The action sequences are very well done. The supporting characters have strong, but not overbearing personalities. And, expect to laugh out loud at the cleverness of Raine's dialog. I immediately bought the next book and enjoyed it just as much. Read more
Review:When John Ross dreams of a crucified man telling him the location of a rare gypsy morph, and that the loss of that magic led to the downfall of the human race - then glimpses his own face upon that crucified man - he determines to find the gypsy morph and solve the secrets of its magic no matter what. Finding it will be the first task - although he knows it will be in a cave on the Oregon coast and what town it will be near, that doesn't necessarily narrow it down. Then capturing it will be a ...
