Chasing Sam (Vegas Mates Book 1)

Enjoyed the characters of Samantha and Chase and their story of what fate and destiny are all about. About fighting for that which you believe even if it causes your death. Of two souls destined to be together through time. Can't wait to read the continuation of their love story.

What is it about paranormal romances that has authors writing about barbaric customs as a mate hunt? And why would a modern woman comply with a custom that she finds abhorrent? There's no explanation as to why Renata so loathes her daughter. There's only an outmoded insistence on obedience. It makes me wonder why Samantha doesn't get a job, quit relying on mommy and daddy, stand on her own two feet, and decide her own future. But that may be my own bourgeois background showing through.

This is another "instalust" story. As such, it's neither worse nor better than many others like it. The ending seemed rushed. The whole story felt incomplete. The content isn't riddled with errors, which, frankly, is a relief and garners points in the author's favor.

So, if you're looking for something light and quick, then this story will do. If you're looking for maturity and depth, then look elsewhere.

I really love paranormal romance and when I got this book to read I was not disappointed and totally hooked!! I fell in love with Chase and Sam who proved the true mates belong together no matter what. Great beginning to a new series!!

Wow! This book is fantastic! I was hooked from the start and didn't put it down until I was finished! This book is definitely a MUST READ! I recommend this book to everyone! Thank you Krystal Shannan for writing this book!

I downloaded this as a free book from the store. Not sure what I expected from this novella- but I never really bought into the modern, educated woman subjecting herself to the archaic rules of a hunt. The story felt a little disjointed. Great premise for a story line but the strength of the main character is at odds with the submission required for the story.

The story was well-constructed. The main characters were strong, and it was their emotions that drove the story, not the other way around. Secondary characters were fuzzy. Sam's sisters blended together, and their actions and motivations failed to make and sense. The story ended too abruptly for me. I wanted a resolution with sam's father and mother. I did enjoy the story, though.

The beginning of the book started out great but the ending felt rushed and incomplete. There were several things about Sam's family left unanswered. Most prominent about her mom's behavior. Just didn't make since when the reader was given a description about how the members in her family felt but not why. Could have been a great book if only it wasn't so short.

This was agreed fun read. The premise for the book young female wolf come home for Christmas to find mom and dad have plans to marry her off to the highest bidder so to speak. The characters Chris and Sam have great chemistry and the plot is entertaining. I look forward to the next book.

Never underestimate a man who wants what he wants. I thought how sad it was for women to be traded away for a cow...but to be hunted down by wolves to be claimed by with no rules..well this hunt turned out very interesting indeed with a unknown protector no one saw at all. Lol it was good!

A very well written story featuring mates who have to win the right to be together. Her family has different ideas but her wolf has already made her choice. The characters are genuine and the storyline is short but intense. I am interested in reading stories about the other daughters and the parents.

I loved this book. When you are werewolf royalty, are 25 and expected to mate who your parents picked out and you fall for the "bad boy" who was not "invited to the ball" but barges in anyway you know that you are in for an exciting, suspenseful ride! Fast-paced action and werewolf hotness abound!

Really enjoyed this book. It was a pleasant surprise. The characters was explained and the flow of the book was refreshing. Liked the action and character development. There is definitely room for more books regarding this family.

A chance meeting at the airport turns into a mate hunt. The father a stoic man held by tradition approves his daughters request to add a suited that is outside of the blue blood line that he picked from, while the mother has other issues with the new arrangement.

This was another Shape shifter book.It was pretty good but had a lot of violence in it. It was not very long and was a fast read. I liked the main characters but not a lot of the others. It did have a pretty good ending.

Krystal Shannon has gained a new reader. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and can hardly wait to read the others in this series. I just wish I knew what her mother's reason for being a class A _itch was. Maybe the next one will explain her malfunction is.

Enjoyed book, great read. Interesting reading about "mating hunt". Quite barbaric, trying to wrap brain around the concept. Seems like Samantha's mom is coming unhinged, can't wait to read the next book.

Sam finds her mate in the airport. However since her family is wealthy, she is required to do a mate chase, and he isn't one of the males her family has picked out for her. There is a happy ending in this book, however there is a subplot that is a cliffhanger.

Krystal Shannan truly surprised me with this incredibly well written story. Chase and Sam were an incredible, hot and sultry pair. Her mom was easily despised as well as her suitors and her sister's were absolutely devoted, loving and supportive. I adored this paranormal shifter romance so much I couldn't possibly put it down before finishing it.

Thank you Krystal for a wonderful read. Loved it, and anticipate reading Book two soon. My inner werewolf awaits.

I also love shifter books, especially ones that are well written. I loved the story concept. If you are in the military, this one is for you. A great read. Having the hero be a military veteran of multiple wars gave it a very good story. Enjoyed this one. I recommend this a read for everyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed this short, yet nicely written, story. I found myself really rooting for true love to win in the end. Sometimes our wishes do come true! This book is part of a series, but works as a stand-alone story without any nasty cliffhanger.

Krystal Shannon has created an exciting new world in her Vegas Mates series. So far her characters are believable and their stories are exciting. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

I really enjoyed this story. It was a great short read. For my own personal selfishness, I was sad that it ended because I was hooked from the start! I'd recommend anyone to read this story who's looking for a quick read!

A good short story. Not much sex, but romance and drama was hot. This book would make a nice novel instead of novella. There was room to flesh out more of the characters I think. But would read more from this author.

Sam is a Med student, Chase is back from deployment. At the Las Vegas airport their lived will change.
Great story about mates. The writing was superb and I am looking forward to more from this series.

This book is a cliché romance novel. Saying it's anything more or less is just wrong. What makes this book work is the fact that it's also a paranormal romance and does explain the parts that seem like an insta romance but make sense and aren't what they seem once given some real explanation.
